Primarily the charity provides friendship, camaraderie and fun, advancing the social and health and well-being of men in Glen Urquhart and surrounding areas through the provision of recreational facilities, machinery, tools and workshops for crafting, making and repairing things and by providing opportunities to learn and teach skills. There is also a strong membership ethic to be of benefit and service to the community, providing a sense of purpose and usefulness that members appreciate. It enables them to put something back into the community and society generally. It helps combat isolation in a rural area and contributes to members health and mental well-being. It undertakes active, creative, physical and purposeful recreational activities of the members own choice and promotes the sense of being part of a team that is being usefully occupied in serving the community.

Objectives: 4 The purpose of the organisation is to provide recreational facilities and advance the social needs, health and well being of men of all ages and backgrounds living in Strathglass, Tomich, Drumnadrochit, Glen Urquhart, Abriachan, Kiltarlity and district By: a) Creating, developing and maintaining a facility, namely a Men's Shed. b) Offering opportunities for men in the Strathglass, Tomich, Drumnadrochit, Glen Urquhart, Kiltarlity and Abriachan area to meet and undertake creative, physical, purposeful and recreational activities of their choice. c) Reducing isolation of men in the area thus contributing to their physical and mental wellbeing. d) Developing the capacity of men in the Strathglass, Tomich, Drumnadrochit, Glen Urquhart, Kiltarlity and Abriachan area to share their skills and knowledge with others in the community.
