The Charity hosts annual exhibitions on aspects of Burntisland's history and maintains files and objects of local interest including paintings by local artists or of local interest. There is also a collection of model boats and collections of photographs, maps and oral histories. The Charity also collaborates with local schools, historians and Fife Council archives, supports digital heritage ,organises heritage walks. and continues to engage with ongoing projects

Objectives: 3.1.1 To promote, maintain, improve and advance the education of the public in history, culture, heritage and the arts, in particular architecture, town planning, and the environment, of Burntisland, Fife and its environs and in furtherance thereof (but without prejudice to the foregoing generality): (a) to hold, protect and maintain the Collection for the benefit of the Community and the public in general. (b) to create, maintain, develop and promote a museum and/or heritage centre. (c) to encourage the appreciation and understanding of the heritage of Burntisland and its immediate surroundings. (d) to furnish and propagate by whatever means may be appropriate education and information to explain the history, culture, scientific and natural environmental values of the said area. and 3.1.2 to promote and encourage the preservation and improvement of the environment of Burntisland and its immediate surroundings and in furtherance thereof (but without prejudice to the foregoing generality): (a) To monitor, comment upon and seek positively to influence town planning, architectural and environmental developments affecting the said area, taking into account the benefit of both inhabitants of the area, allowing for the growth in tourism. (b) to provide facilities, buildings, sculptures, monuments, land forms, meeting and lecture rooms, plaques, notice boards, benches and external furniture, signposts, paths, and the like to benefit the public environment of the said area.
