MASJID BILAL Trustees, Report For Period 1 April 2024 - 31 March 2025 Introductlon Masjid Bilal is a small Scottlsh Charity (SC052131), and operating in Glasgow. We seek to support the advancement of religion, the provision of recreational facilities, or the organisalion of recreational activities, with the object of improving the conditions of life for the persons for whom the facilities or acb'vities are primarily intended, the promobon of religious or racial harmony. To promote and facilitate the advancement of Muslim culture and leachings and its ethos, within the Muslim community and the rest of the community at large, thereby providing better knowledge and understanding of Muslim culture by other communities and promoting integration of other diverse communities,. To promole the physical, intellectual, social, moral and spidtual development of all members of the Muslim community with an emphasis on young people, and by providing a broad range of educational, recreational and spiritual activities and To promote racial and religious harmony and mutual respect be￿een the Muslim community and other cornmLJnities, thus enabling the Muslim community to participate in and fully contribute to all aspects of civic life lvl Organised re1￿lOuS events for society members (Friday prayers, Muharram events, Eid events). Arranged various activities Ca￿led out during month of Ramadhan and Muharram. Arranged public lectures on community matters, groups discussion (English, Arabic & Urdu) and weekly Friday prayers, charity and cultural events. Organising events for youth, women and other members of the communty on numerous topics of intsrest to the communty. Statement of Responslbllltles of Members The committee members are responsible for the preparation of the accounts for each finanGial year, which gives a twe and fair review of the state of affairs at the end of the year and of its results for that period. In preparing those accounts the members are required to; Select suitable accounting policies and then apply them consistently. Make judgements and estimates that are reasonable and prudent State whether applicable accounting standards have been followed Prepare the accounts on the going concern basis unles5 it is inappropriate to assume that the scheme will continue The committee members are responsible for keeping proper accounting records which disclose with reasonable accuracy at any time the financial position of the project and which will enable them to comply with accounting procedures of The Law Reform (Miscellaneous Provisions) (Scotland) Act 1990 and The Charities Accounts (Scotland) regulations 1992. As a Scottish charity they must also comply with the applicable temis and provisions of the Charities & Trustee Investment (Scotland) Regulations 2006. They are responsible for safeguarding the assets of the organisation and hence for taking reasonable steps for the prevention and detection of fraud or other irregularities. We shall continue to work to deliver the successful assistance and help required by our service users to the consistentty high standard we have been renowned for. Independent Examiner's Report Notes on Masjid Bilal 1 April 2024- 31 March 2025 Statement of Res onsibilities of Trustees & Inde endent Examiner The charity's trustees are responsible for the preparation of the accounts in accordance with the terms of the Charities and Trustee Investment (Scotland) 2005 Act and the Charities Accounts (Scotlandl Regulations 2006. The charity trustees consider that the audit requirement of Regulation 10(1) (d) of the Accounts Regulations does not apply. It is my responsibility to examine the accounts as required under section 44{1) Ic) of the Act and to state whether particular matters have come to my attention. Basls of Inde endent 6xaminerfs statement My examination is carried out in accordance with Regulation 11 of the Charities Accounts (Scotland) Regulations 2006. An examinab'on includes a ￿VIeW of the accounting records kept by the charity and a comparison of the accounts presented with those records. It also includes consideration of any unusual items or disclosures in the accounts and seeks explanakn'ons from the trustees conceming any such matters. The prO￿dureS undertaken do not provide all the evidence that would be required in an audit and, consequently, I do not express an audit opinion on the accounts.
