Activities and Achievements:
Coastwatch West Fife (SCIO) continues to provide a vital mobile coastal safety and monitoring service , operating from our small mobile command vehicle at North Queensferry (Battery Road Car Park) and Seafield Beach, Kirkcaldy . This year, we were thrilled to receive grants from local providers to enhance our Community Resilience Services , including first aid initiatives that directly benefit the local community.
Our volunteer team remains strong with 9 dedicated members , ensuring that we maintain our high operational standards and that our volunteers consistently demonstrate professionalism and care while on duty.
This year has seen exciting developments in volunteer progression and community engagement:
-
1 volunteer successfully completed our training course and was promoted to Certified Watchkeeper status.
-
We have identified 2 potential new Resilience Watchkeepers , strengthening our community programme.
-
A new Command and Control system has been developed, streamlining the management of our operational activities and equipment across the charity.
We also continued our commitment to public education and skills development through RYA training courses , with delegates successfully earning their RYA/MCA Radio Licences , enhancing both safety and competence on our local waters.
Finally, we extend our sincere thanks to the Royal Navy for organising a memorable tour onboard HMS Queen Elizabeth (Aircraft Carrier) , offering our volunteers a unique insight into naval operations and maritime safety at the highest level.
Through these achievements, Coastwatch West Fife continues to protect, educate, and strengthen our coastal community , ensuring a safer environment for all who live, work, and enjoy our shores.

BASIS OF INDEPENDENT EXAMINERS STATEMENT
My examination is carried out in accordance with the Regulations. An examination includes a review of the accounting records kept by Coastwatch West Fife (SCIO) and a comparison of the accounts presented with those records.
The procedures undertaken do not provide all the evidence that would be required in an audit and consequently I do not express an audit opinion on the view given by the accounts. I do not accept responsibility to anyone other than Coastwatch West Fife (SCIO) members as a body, for my work and this report.
Independent Examiners Report:
In connection with my examination, no matter has come to my attention:
-
(1) which gives me reasonable cause to believe that in any material respect, the requirements to:
-
(a) to keep accounting records in accordance with the Regulations, and
-
(b) to prepare accounts which agree with the accounting records and comply with the Regulations have not been met, or
-
(2) to which, in my opinion, attention should be drawn in order to enable a proper understanding of the accounts to be reached.
