activities as may be reasonably necessary andlor incldental to such oblertives.

I. To generally promote the game of lawn bowls. Indoor bowls and tennls for the benefft of members,
the local community and visitors to the area.
2. To promote and abide by the Rules of Bowls Scotland.
3. To provide access to lawn bowls for players of all standards In a frlendly and welcomlng atmosphere
that does not discriminate on the grounds of age, di5abillty, gender reassignment, marriage and civll
partnership, pre8nanry and maternlty, race, religion or belief, sex; sexual orientation, political or
other opinion.
4. To provide coachlng In bowls for be8lnners and Improvement for experlenced players.
5. To arrange competition5 and matches for members.
6. To sell and deal in alcohol. minerallaerated water, clgars, clgarettes, tobacco. matches, other related
produrts as well as refreshments, foodstuffs, merchandise and equlpment in accordance wlth the
provislons of any licensing laws and by obtalning the necessary statutory consents and licences for
this.
Achlevements and Perfonnance
Our maln source of fundln8 Is from membership and vlsitors, fees durln8 the Summer months.
The session of indoor bowlin8 which commenced in the previous financlal year ended on 28th February
2024, The income for the month of February was only £55. The cost of the hire of the village hall was
£325.50 paid in this financial year. Although a grant was received in 2023 from the Portpatrick Communlty
Development Trust to assist with hiring the hall. the Trustees decided that it was not financially viable to
relntroduce the indoor bowling in the winter months of 2024, due to the high cost of hiringthe hall and the
redurtion in indoor bowling members.
The tenni5 Courts attracted visltors and the income was £400.50. Unfortunately, the courts were not used
for Rockn. the Port concerts due to inclement weather.
The Jan Holak Art Group commenced hirin8 the main room in the Club house most Thursday afternoons
from 4th July 2024 resulting in an income of £535. A loc31 community 8roup hired the hall one nlght for £40.
The Art group pay £20 for two hours and £25 on cold day5 when the heatin8 is required.

Reserve Pollry
The Trustee policy is to retain Six months. worth of normal runnin8 costs, to meet commitment5 and to
cover any other unexpected expenditure. The sltuation 15 c105ely monitored.
Plans for the future
The trustees iv7tend to develop the service and promote the bowlin8 and tennls club to grow our
membership. We are particularly interested in working in partnership with local organisations. the
community and to extend fund raising opportunities In a diverse structure. The Club has been contarted by
the Busine55 Development Manager Scotland on behalf of the Portpatrick Hotel to dlscuss some form of
worklng partnership.
As an a8ing community membership. the Club is interested in supporting people wlth disabllltfes. Throu8h
chan8ing the ima8e of "bowls being for the older community. the Trustees are exploring ways to
encourage younger adults and children to participate in the sport. Crazy bowls wa5 introduced durlng 2024
and It Is hoped It wlll develop and attract famllles with young chlldren.

The Portpatrick Bowllng and Tennis Club (PBTC) was re8iStered on 7 Ottober 2022 in the terms of the
Charities and Trustees Investment (Scotland) Art 2005 and the Charities Accounts Scotland Regulation 2006
and is now a Scottish Charitable Incorporated Organi5ation {SCIOI. The deeds have been transferred
accordin81y.
Appointment of Trustees
The Board of Trustees are deemed to be eletted by the members from the date of incorporation of the
Club on 7th
October 2022. At each AGM the charity trustees eletted/appointed Shall retire from office- but
shall then be ellglble for re-election under clause 59 of the 8overning constitution. There must be
minlmum of three and a maximum of five trustee5.
The Charlty has a two-tier strurture.
The Board of Charlty Trustees responslble for the overall control of the Club and for monitoring and
controlling the financlal position.
The sub-committee Illsted below) are Èlerted annually at each AGM by the members and are responslble
for the day to day runnlng of the Club.

The trustees intend to develop the service and promote the bowling and tennis club to grow our
membership. We are particularly interested in working in partnership with local organisations, the
community and to extend fund raisin8 Opportunities in a diverse structure. The Club ha5 been contacted by
the Business Development Manager Scotland on behalf of the Portpatrick Hotel to discuss some form of
working partnership.

changing the image of "bowls being for the older community" the Trustees are exploring ways to
