**Purposes:** 'the relief of those in need by reason of age, ill-health, disability, financial hardship or other disadvantage'

**What the charity does:** Lily's Legacy is fundraising enough money to build or buy a suitable respite lodge or house that will be used by sick children and their family/close friends. This was a valuable resource to Lily and her family through a really difficult time and gave her and those close to her chance to step away from a not so nice normal at times and just be a family. Valuable time to love each other, laugh with each other and make special bonds/memories that will go on to be cherished forever. The charity will continue to support families for up to 2 years following the loss of a child from cancer.

**Objectives:** Purposes 4 The organisation's purposes are based on the wishes of Lily Douglas, a 14 year old dancer, who whilst battling terminal cancer for 5 years with Ewing's Sarcoma, wanted other children to benefit from similar help that she had received from charities and to help bring awareness to rare childhood cancers. The purposes of the charity are: (a) To raise funds and provide practical, useful, fun items for the following groups: _ children with life threatening and/or terminal illnesses and their families and/or close support groups _ families following the tragic, unforeseen loss of a child _ families with children whilst going through cancer treatment. up to two years after treatment ceases. or the loss of a child from cancer (b) To raise funds to establish a retreat, proposed to be called 'Lily's Lodge', to provide free respite for those mentioned in sections 4(a). (c) Applicants for support from the charity can be from anywhere in the United Kingdom.
