Achievements and performance

Summary of the main achievements of Our beer festival was held in October 2023. This unfortunately coincided the charity during the financial period with a spell of very bad weather. However, a profit of just over £8,500 was still achieved, a reasonable result given the circumstances. Our Santa's Sleigh event in December 2023 raised £3,540. Our December 2024 event is also included in this financial year - that event was extremely successful and raised £8,595 which is our highest ever Santa's Sleigh total by some distance. Our beer festival is held locally in Dunfermline in order to benefit local good causes. This is a large scale event and is usually attended by over 1,200 people over the course of a weekend. Our Santa Sleigh collection is held in December in the the weeks prior to Christmas. We operate a street collection with Santa and his elves in tow. This involves local children in each residential area we visit having a meet and greet and a photo with Santa. Funds raised benefit local good causes and underprivileged children in Fife at Christmas time. The donations to local good causes and charities made during this financial year totalled over £20,000, including donations to Dunfermline Rugby Football Club, Children’s Clothing Bank Dunfermline, Radio Forth Cash For Kids, Dunfermline Foodbank, Gift of Christmas appeal, SEAL Dunfermline and many others.

Financial review

Brief statement of the charity’s policy
on reserves
Details of any deficit
Donated facilities and services (if any)
Where possible we look to date any funds raised from fundraising activities to good causes within that financial
,
year.
However, where we raise funds shortly prior to Christmas at our annual Santa Sleigh collection, those funds are
generally donated in November/December the following year, as those funds tend to go towards charities and
good causes at Christmas time and charities who have Christmas appeals, such as Dunfermline Foodbank and
Gift of Christmas Fife and donations are given well in advance of Christmas time.
The funds at the end of the financial year in March 2025 were higher than normal. However, we did have a 'Big
Charity giveaway. held on 28th March 2025 and donated over £10,000 to a variety of charities and good causes.
Due to timings, the successful applicants received their funds in April 2025 so will show in our next set of
financials

Respective
responsibilities of
trustees and examiner
The charity’s trustees are responsible for the preparation of the accounts in accordance
with the terms of the Charities and Trustee Investment (Scotland) 2005 Act and the
Charities Accounts (Scotland) Regulations 2006 (as amended). The charity trustees
consider that the audit requirement of Regulation 10(1) (d) of the Accounts Regulations
does not apply. It is my responsibility to examine the accounts as required under section
44(1) (c) of the Act and to state whether particular matters have come to my attention.
Basis of independent
examiner’s statement
My examination is carried out in accordance with Regulation 11 of the 2006 Accounts
Regulations. An examination includes a review of the accounting records kept by the
charity and a comparison of the accounts presented with those records. It also includes
consideration of any unusual items or disclosures in the accounts and seeks
explanations from the trustees concerning any such matters. The procedures undertaken
do not provide all the evidence that would be required in an audit and, consequently, I do
not express an audit opinion on the viewgiven bythe accounts.
Independent examiner’s In the course of my examination, no matter has come to my attention [other than that
statement disclosed on the attached page*]
1.
which gives me reasonable cause to believe that in any material respect the
requirements:

to keep accounting records in accordance with section 44(1) (a) of the 2005 Act and
Regulation 4 of the 2006 Accounts Regulations, and

to prepare accounts which accord with the accounting records and comply with
Regulation 9 of the 2006 Accounts Regulations
have not been met, or

to which, in my opinion, attention should be drawn in order to enable a proper
understanding of the accounts to be reached.
