The SCIO is set up to improve and extend the local path network and connect communities by means of safe active travel routes. This involves advancing community development & wellbeing and environmental improvement. We work in partnership with national agencies, the local authority, community councils, community groups and individuals to achieve our objectives. Our activities include liaison and negotiation with land managers, securing funding for route development and path maintenance, provision of ebikes & conventional bikes through our Oldmeldrum Community ebikes project and publication of route publicity materials.
Objectives: 4 The organisation?s purposes are: (a) To improve the local path networks in the Oldmeldrum area for the benefit of the residents of Oldmeldrum and the surrounding communities. (b) The advancement of community development. (c) The provision of recreational facilities with the object of improving the conditions of life for the persons for whom the facilities are primarily intended. (d) The advancement of environmental improvement.
