trustees and examiner
The charity’s trustees are responsible for the preparation of the accounts in accordance
with the terms of the Charities and Trustee Investment (Scotland) 2005 Act and the
Charities Accounts (Scotland) Regulations 2006 (as amended). The charity trustees
consider that the audit requirement of Regulation 10(1) (d) of the Accounts Regulations
does not apply. It is my responsibility to examine the accounts as required under section
44(1) (c) of the Act and to state whether particular matters have come to my attention.
Basis of independent
examiner’s statement
Basis of independent
examiner’s statement
My examination is carried out in accordance with Regulation 11 of the 2006 Accounts
Regulations. An examination includes a review of the accounting records kept by the
charity and a comparison of the accounts presented with those records. It also includes
consideration of any unusual items or disclosures in the accounts and seeks
explanations from the trustees concerning any such matters. The procedures undertaken
do not provide all the evidence that would be required in an audit and, consequently, I do
not express an audit opinion on the viewgiven bythe accounts.

ALBURY COMMUNITY SPORTS HUB (ACSH) SCOTTISH CHARITY NUMBER – SC051926

Annual Report for Year ended December 31[st] 2025

The Charity currently has 116 Members from which the Board of Trustees is appointed.

The trustees present their annual report and financial statements of the charity for the year ended 31 December 2025. The financial statements have been prepared in accordance with a Receipts and Payments accounting policy for small charities.

Trustees below have all served between the AGM 18.2.2025 and 31.12.2025:-

The Objectives of the Charity as defined on the OSCR website are:-

Activities during the 2025 season (mid-April to mid-September). Pay and Play users have used ACSH facilities regularly and appreciate the range of sports offered. Our team of regular volunteers are highly valued for their support of the Hub - we could not do without them! Throughout the year “Open Access users” (annual subscribers) access the facilities by using the gate code, mainly using the Tennis Courts which are registered with the Lawn Tennis Association. We have a trained and accredited Welfare Officer.

As well as providing tennis, pickleball, bowling, putting, petanque and croquet, the Hub has hosted a weekly Walking Group and a free weekly afternoon of social sport in partnership with Sport Aberdeen for a range of people including refugees, asylum seekers and those with health issues. The Tennis Courts, Bowling Green and Croquet Lawn are used for competitions and the Hub itself has held two very successful open Putting competitions. The green is the only 18 hole extant in the city.

The local Academy used the tennis courts for curricular purposes, and the local primary school used the facilities for tennis, bowling and putting during the school session, a dedicated volunteer providing much

appreciated coaching. The Financial Report provides details of income and spend during 2025, noting that income from Pay and Play has remained almost the same as 2024 – increased by 0.02%.

Sport Aberdeen, the arms-length trust which manages the facility on behalf of Aberdeen City Council, continues to work with the Hub Trustees providing hugely valuable support to enable achievement of our objectives.

Future Plans. A Community consultation was held in the autumn of 2025, and several people have expressed interest in becoming involved in the running of the Hub, especially filling some key positions in its management. A large grant has been awarded by Aberdeen City Council to replace the dilapidated fencing surrounding the tennis courts, and the Trustees will manage the project jointly with Sport Aberdeen during spring 2026.

Financial Review The principal sources of income are from annual subscription fee payers and seasonal Pay and Play facilities users. Redwood Bank holds most of our finances in an interest-bearing account while the Bank of Scotland Business (Charity) Account is used for all day-to-day transactions.
