care system. Throughout Scolland and Ihe United Kingth)m In 2023 we ran a campaign called
#SpreadASrnileThisCh¥istma5. We had the intention to offer relief lo families that ale hrt by
financial difficulties through the most challenging tirr￿S In society, and we hoped lo offef
somewhat of a relief and touch of hurnan kindness lo children and families along the way. Being
separated offers the most immense pressufe u￿n children, families and caregNers, physicalty
and emotlDnally as il is.. throw in a nat￿nal hol#Jay arxj you a¢Jd in financial pressures on lop of
the mounting pressure. We worked in partnership wth B 8 M Retail st￿e5 and received kind
donations of children's toys worth around £500 lo send out to chiklren and families 80 that Ihe
children would each have a gift. We shared our carnpa￿n in our local Communty in the West
Midlgnds, and managed to raise the £500 donations of toys.

Preservation rt was impossible for us to meet any other chiklren and families nee(15 the
budget ihal we had allocated frorn the fvndrai5ing campaign. We are protxj of our secorKI
canipavdn lor our chaiity and the impact Ihal ihe Gafflpaign had among the Ghildien and families
that we offer8J Ihe support lo. The short campaign Ihal we ian. didn't just help iai5e the funds lo
be able lo Complete the project, il also helped lo raise awafeness within Ouf communities of the
pressures la￿ by children and families within Iheir communities and throughout Scotland and
the UK. 11 opened up relationships wrth other charities to come together and host events, and
opersed door5 for future work together We bel*¥e that there is room for ChI￿aleTh and families to
be Offe￿ the sJpport they require in moments of desperation. to help meet their needs and
reduce their chances of any further repercussions. upon theif present circumstances. We
believe that regardless of your circumstan￿, peopk matter and human compassion and
èmplthy can arKI does make a huge iM￿¢t upon an irKli¥idual, farnily.

The charty relies primarily on prNate donab.ons to cover ongoiw running costs (which are
almost exclusively IT related).

The charity has no overheads beyond the monlhty IT cost, which is covered on an as-needed
basis by pnv81e dona:ions from the Iruslees As such. the trustees do rK)t believe il is necessary
or appropriate to resefye funds rather than allocate them for charrtal)le purpo$88.
Plans fof the future
The tnjstees intend to Continue to devdop our Charita￿e Objectives. in the coming year. We
InI￿d lo run the #SpreadASmileThisChrislmas eampaign again in 2024. and look to conned
with more retail businesses and investors We also intend lo continue to deliver conflict
resolution and r8conciliation among academics. professi¢inals in practice, and children and

1) Basss of accounting. These accoun15 have been ￿epa￿d on the Receipts and Payments
basis In accordance wth the Char￿￿ & Trustee Investment (Scolland) Act 2C(15 and Ihe
Charilles Accounts (Scotland> Regulations 20C￿ las a￿ntsJ).
2) Nature •nd purpose of funds. Ur)restr￿ted funds are those that may ￿ used al the
di￿retion of the trustee5 in furtherar￿￿ of Ihe objects of the charity. The trustees maintain a
singk unreslricled fund for the day-ltrday running of the charity.
Restriclgd funds may only be used for specific purposes. Restficlions arise when specffied
by the donor or when fiJrKls are raised for specifie purFrf)ses. During Ihe year the charity
carried over £2, 150 from a grant made by Ihe Corra Foundation for vouchers to a$￿st
families in need due lo rising costs of liwng. This was distributed during the year.
