Creative Carmunnock Arts Festival 2025
Once again the committee and village volunteers created events that brought the whole village together. Gala week 2024 was unfortunately washed out this year, however we are resolved to bring it back bigger and better for 2025
Gala day 2024 was fortunately a fabulous day again and we are very thankful for the support of the whole village and its organisations. The weather was kind and we had a great day of fun and music and food. We were joined this year by an outdoor specialist who had spent the previous few days with the school teaching them about their food and the impact on the environment
Christmas 2024 saw us working with village organisations to support the tree lighting ceremony despite the rain! We had a fabulous evening with Santa and his reindeer later in the month and families were able to visit with Santa and Mrs Claus. Lessons learned from 2023 saw an extremely busy evening of fun. Thanks again to Bedrock for providing Santa’s sleigh.
Owing to funding by the national lottery we were able to launch Carmunnock’s first arts festival, a very successful weekend of art and
5
music and comedy with opportunities to discover painting and poetry. This was the launchpad for the initiative “Creative Carmunnock” which continued on into the year. This was supported extremely well by the village and beyond with all events fully subscribed. Special thanks to the steering group.

Financial review
-
The charity carried forward a balance of just £684 from 23/24.
-
H Macartney Body Repairs Ltd generously donated £1000.
-
Portal Security again donated overnight security for the Gala weekend.
-
The Linn area committee gave us a grant of £5000 for 2024 events.
-
Ross & Liddell awarded us a grant of £500 via their Community Bursary Initiative.
-
Bedrock provided Santa’s transport at Christmas.
-
National lottery awarded us a 2 year grant of £19800.
-
Donations in total were over £2200 and grants totalled £24800
-
Fund raised via tickets sales and other activities over £2700.
-
It seems a lot, however outgoings are quite substantial and where ever possible we use local suppliers and charities as our partners in what we do.
-
• Our outgoings for the financial year amounted to over £20000
-
This left us with a balance of over £10200 to go towards events in the year 2024/2025.
7
Future plans
Our plans for 2025/26 include the gala day in June 2025 (already passed as I write this report) and year 2 of the Creative Carmunnock arts festival. We hope to continue to fund a monthly arts class
We have some funds for the year 25/26 with over half of the Lottery grant still available. We will continue to look at ways of cutting costs and raising funds.
Additional information
We would like to thank all of the organisations in the village for their support and look forward to another successful year of Gala and Creative Carmunnock Events!
