Activities
'It carries out activities or services itself'
'the prevention or relief of poverty','the advancement of education','the advancement of citizenship or community development','the relief of those in need by reason of age, ill-health, disability, financial hardship or other disadvantage'
Our purpose is to reduce the impacts of poverty in Glasgow by using food as a vehicle for change. We accomplish this by providing high-quality food at low cost through our food pantry and by creating secure, well-paid jobs and training opportunities at our food enterprises for those most at risk of long-term unemployment. Our innovative and sustainable model aims to address the root causes of poverty and help ease the trauma caused by economic inactivity and limited access to quality food for local people and their families in Glasgow.
Objectives: 1 The prevention or relief of poverty through the creation of meaningful volunteering and paid work opportunities for people who experience barriers to employment. 2 To promote, establish and operate other schemes of a charitable nature for the benefit of the community. 3 The prevention of poverty and the relief of financial hardship by providing food security to those in need by reason of age, ill-health, disability, financial hardship or other disadvantage' through the provision of sustainable low-cost food. 4 The advancement of education through the provision of practical training as a route to employment.
