Objectives: The objects of the CIO are to advance, for the public benefit, such exclusively charitable purposes (according to the law of England and Wales) as the trustees in their absolute discretion see fit from time to time, in particular, but not exclusively, by making grants to other charities, organisations and individuals to: 3.1 advance amateur sport and promote participation in healthy recreation. 3.2 relieve those in need because of youth, age, ill health, disability, financial hardship or other disadvantage. 3.3 promote and protect physical and mental health. and 3.4 preserve and protect the environment. Nothing in this constitution shall authorise an application of the property of the CIO for the purposes which are not charitable in accordance with section 7 of the Charities and Trustee Investment (Scotland) Act 2005 and section 2 of the Charities Act (Northern Ireland) 2008.
