Activities

'It carries out activities or services itself'

'the advancement of education','the advancement of the arts, heritage, culture or science'

Provide training courses in lapidary work in order to maintain the Scottish lapidary traditions. This is a requirement for full Club membership but training is also provided to interested people from other parts of the country who, for example, wish to set up local lapidary clubs. Provide facilities in our premises to allow members to work on their own lapidary projects (including silver work and gem faceting). Maintain and extend our extensive collection of mineral specimens for the education of our members and visiting members of the public. Organise lectures in the Club premises, including the annual Heddle lecture. Continue our outreach work to educate the public in the lapidary arts and Scottish mineralogy.

Beneficiaries: 'No specific group, or for the benefit of the community'

Objectives: The Club's purposes are, for the benefit of the public in Scotland and elsewhere: (a) to advance education in relation to natural minerals and lapidary. (b) to provide training in the craftsmanship of stones, minerals, gemstones and associated metalwork. and (c) to advance the heritage and culture surrounding the Scottish lapidary tradition.
