The Discovery Church Dunbar was recognised as a Scottish Charitable Incorporated Organisation (SCIO) on the 23rd March 2022. Discovery Church Dunbar is affiliated wilh 24-7 Prayer (Registered Charrty No. 1091413. Registered Company No. 04176643). Trustse Recruitment & Appointment: At each AGM, the members may elect any member (unless helshe is debarred from membership under clause 7.7 of the Constrtution) to be a chanty trustee. All of the charty trustees electedlappointed shall retire trom office, but shall then be eligible for re-election. A charty trustee retiring at an AGM will be deemed to have been reelected unless" _ helshe advises the board prior to the conclusion of the AGM that helshe does not wish to be re-appointed as a charty trustee" or an election process was held at the AGM arKI helshe was not among those electedlre- elected through that process. or a resoluts'on for the rlectn of that charity trustee was put to the AGM and VRS not carried. Objectives & Activities Th• CharitiOS Charitable Purpose: As set out in the 'Constitution' and The Chartties and Trust Investments (Scotland) Act 2005, the purpose{s) of Discovery Church Dunbar SCIO are the following.. - the advancement of religion Any other purpose that may reasonably be regarded as analogous to any of the preceding purposes. Summary of th• rnain activities in r•lation to theso objectives: 1. to advance the Christian faith in accordan with the statement of values and practices appearing in the Schedule., and 2. to further such other purposes which may be charitable according to the law of Scotland which are not inconsistent with 3.1 In both cases primarily (but not exclusively) in East Lothian. DÉscovery Church gathers regularly on Sundays. and also in smaller settings throughoLrt the week. The church has links with and supports local groups in the area, such as the Foodbank, Surfers against Sewage, schools and youth workers.
Annual ReFQrt & Financial Statements for the year endwig 31 Marr 2025 Scottish Charty No SCO51656 Achlevement & Perforniance for 2024-25 In line with the Discovery Church Dunbar constitution, we have continued to hold our Sunday Gatherings weekly. These have largely been conducted outdoors or in one anotherfs homes with a rhythm of three morning meetings and one aftemoon gathering each month. We conts'nue to have a midweek gathering wrth three out of four exploring the Christian faith through bible study sometimes complemented by online resour, sludy guides or adIng a book together. We replace this with a communty meal on the fourth week of the month. We continue to host online prayer-times two momings a week and an Examen prayer online on a Sunday evening. Discovery is part of the Eco Congregations movement and of Dunbar Churches Eco-Group. We actively support the Food Share local food bank and the Dunbar Area Chnstian Youth Project. We are a 24-7 Prayer Communty.
