**Purposes:** &#x27;the prevention or relief of poverty&#x27;,&#x27;the provision of recreational facilities, or the organisation of recreational activities, with the object of improving the conditions of life for the persons for whom the facilities or activities are primarily intended&#x27;,&#x27;the relief of those in need by reason of age, ill-health, disability, financial hardship or other disadvantage&#x27;

**What the charity does:** The organisation&#x27;s purposes are as follows:  1.  Provision of a safe, and welcoming place for vulnerable/lonely Vets can meet. 2. To visit those who are unable to attend meetings and functions due to health issues.  3. Promoting sense of purpose and inclusion within the Veterans community. 4. To advise and assist by giving advice or signposting  on subjects including health, benefits, housing etc. 5. Running a small foodbank. 6. Granting of small financial payments to assist at times of need. 7. Working with local groups - addressing specific areas of awareness including suicide prevention and PTSD.  8.  Supporting Veterans post release from prison to reintegrate into the community.

**Objectives:** The organisation&#x27;s purposes are: a. Provision of a safe, and welcoming, place where lonely and vulnerable veterans can meet. b. Visiting ill/infirm veterans in local hospitals, hospices and care/nursing  homes. c. Improving self-esteem by promoting a sense of purpose and inclusivity  through the encouragement and guidance of veterans to help others. d. Provision of advice/signposting for those seeking help/assistance  regarding health, benefits or homelessness including on-site interviews with  specialist external support workers. e. Provision of an emergency foodbank to provide immediate short-term food  poverty relief. f. Granting of small financial payments to address immediate utility needs. g. Representation on local working groups to help raise the awareness of,  and campaign for, greater recognition and training to address specific  veteran’s needs particularly in the areas of suicide prevention/PTSD.  h. Supporting veterans who have recently been released from prison to help  integrate them back into the community.
