Objectives and activities Lochee Community Shed SCIO is a small charity in Lochee which is considered an area of deprivation (SIMD. 2020). The purpose of the organisation is to provide recreational facilities and advance the social needs, health and well-being of all ages and backgrounds living in Lochee and surrounding areas Many of our local community suffer from social isolation, as well as mental health challenges. Lochee Community Shed aims to advan￿ the health and well-being of our participants and create opportunities for participants to contribute to the local Lochee communty. We are hopeful that the coming together wthin the community of disenfranchised locals will help with their mental health and inclusion. Unfortunately, Lochee Community Shed has struggled to get momentum going after the 2 years of uncertainty during the COVID pandemic. This has had an impact on plans to have regular opening.

structure, governance and management The Lochee Community Shed is a Scottish Charitable Incorporated Organisation (SCIO) with voting members other than its charity Trustees. The SCIO is govemed by a constitution, with charity Trustees being elected at the Annual General Meeting. Any vacant seats may be filled by a nomination and co-option by the existing Trustees during the year. All Trustees are volunteers and undertake activities to further the objects of Lochee Community Shed as required wth no remuneration or financial benefit received for their time. General structure The structure of the organisation consists of"_ the MEMBERS who have the right to attend members, meetings (including any annual general meeting) and have important powers under the constitution- in particular. the members appoint people to serve on the board and take decisions on changes to the constitution itself. the BOARD (CHARITY TRUSTEES) - who hold regular meetings, and generally control the activities of the organisation,. for example, the board is responsible for monitonng and controlling the financial position of the organisats'on.

Achievements and performance Our unit at as been used for various DIY and upcyding projects mostly on a one-to-one basis wrth members of the community. This has included dock-making, pallet tree making, metal polishing, appliance repair and test. Our second shop unit a has funding for a refurbishment. It currently holds classes in conjunction INith Hobo-Art delivenng spray paint art classes Our major success of the year was our Memorial Garden Event- the area outside the units was made into a memorial garden for suicide and overdose awareness. This project included preparing the provided outdoor space including jet-washing- building a gazebo. seating and decking- building planters and fumishing with plants- and new fencing. Members of the community were instrumental in bringing this project to completion.

Financial review Brief statement of the charity's policy on reserves The organisation must retain sufficient funds to meet the annual rental charges of the premises where members meet and ensure that we have sufficient reserves to cover liability insurance and to meet the purchase of new and replacement equipment and the materials required to ensure that we have a fully functioning Shed. Details of any deficit None Donated facilities and services (if any) None

Future plans Due to the change of management team at the beginning of 2023 we have been able to make plans and schedule tasks to get the charity back on track and start to build momentum again. We aim to organise events which involve all members of community- including facepainting" football" water fights. We want to start getting involved with local community groups to speak about updating the community gardens and put a plan in place for volunteers to maintain the gardens. Overall, we want activities to start benefitting the whole community. The planned refurbishment of the shop units has been delayed but is planned to be completed during this next financial period The plan is to turn unit 11 into an open work Spa￿ for woodwork and community building projects which will involve training members of the community. Thus, making them a part of the community and feel included. Unit 7 will be used for the training and for any storage required.
