Our Constilution was derived from Ihe Scottish Men's Shed Association
(SMSA) which was buitt using GUMIan￿ from the SCIO Guidance
pages.

Objectives and activities
Charitable purposes
The Facilibes the Men's Shed provides allow5 the provision of
reueational facilities, or the organisation of recreational activities, with
the object of improwThJ the conditions of lrfe for the persons for whom
the facilities or activities are primarity intended", the relief of those in
need by reas￿ of age, ilkheath, disabilty, finanaal hardship or other
disadvantage.
Summary of the rnain activities
in relation to these objects
The main aim of the Clyde Coast & Cumbrae Men's Shed is to help
improve men's mental heath. wellbeing and social lrfe by providing a
venue where men can choose to either work, relax, make and repair
things, pursue hobbies and pastimes, get practical help wrth projects,
share & leam new skills.
Perhaps more importanty, ivs a place where men ean make new
friends, have a cuppa, a chat. a laugh, get out of the house for a while
and disojss health issues they may be experiencing.

Achievements and performance
Due to the Free Lease Prowded by North Ayrshire C￿n￿l (NAC} limtting the Shed opening hours to a Max of 24 hour5
per week, we Se￿ed on Opening the doors to the Membership (which is free to join) to a Tuesday & Saturday. and
sometimes on a Thursday. depending on whether 2 Trustees are aV￿lable to supervise.
Since then, we regulady have be￿een 18- 27 members each session. Nwth more applw'ng for membership at each
session, currently we have around 120 on the Membership Register.
The Trustees have seen several men coming out of their shdls and becoming more involved and opening up with
other members about Personal issues they are faciThJ, which is one of the main aims of the shed, to get men Talking.
We get feedback from Wives, Mother5 & Daughters stating how rnuch their men fdk are enjoying the atmosphere &
company of the shed & other men.
Surnmary of the rnain achievements of the charity during the financial period
We have eonlinued the Free Lease from North AyT5hire Council for the Brisbane Centre this year 2024. We have
continued to progress With the Comrnunity Asset Transfer (CAT) for us to take over the Building as a going concem for
the communty. The appetite for the MembeT5hip & the Trustees is to Open the Doots more including Evening
sessions, therefore giving the men working during the day a chanee to use the faeiltbes.
We have Set up 2 Wheelchair a¢￿SSible benrt￿5 for Members.
Vve have carried out Evening sessions wth the Scottish Womens Institute as they want to make Planters, Bird Boxes,
Storage boxes and leam how to use Power tools Safely.
We have had the Boys Brigade with their leaders in Making Items & leaming how to use some Battery Power tools.
We continue lo receive huge SUPF4)rt from NAC, Lc¢al Businesses. Local Contractors, the Local Community and Largs
Visitors. Local Parks & Gardens.
Everyone that visits the Shed states that it's a fantastic thing for men to attend.
We also started 2 groups ¢xrt wtth the Main Shed activit￿ which are a Walking group & Guitar dasses split into

Now we have a reserve account I have requested that we add it into our
Consttbjtion at the next AGM or rf required a Special Membets Meeting.

We have donated the Services & Skills of the Men's Shed to several
individuals. Businesses, Charitsble groups & GardenslPart(s, by
carying out minor works in the Shed for them which they were unable
to otherwise k￿te.
We have made & Donated Memorial Plaques for graves for indNiduals
as we now have a Laser Engraver.
We have Carried out repairs to several Senb'mental f(ems for local
resKlents.
