It was formed on 12 January 2022. ## Trustee Recruitment and Appointment New trustees are appointed by members of Restore Glasgow at the Annual General Meeting. Only members of Restore may become trustees, except where trustees are co-opted from organisations with which Restore has a close relationship. **4** ## **OBJECTIVES AND ACTIVITIES** ## Restore Glasgow’s charitable purposes are: 1) The advancement of citizenship or community development, through the education of communities in recognising and reporting the signs of human trafficking and how to support survivors. 2) The advancement of human rights, conflict resolution or reconciliation through working with like-minded organisations to address and eliminate human trafficking in Scotland, primarily in Glasgow. Specifically, our aims are for more people in Glasgow to know about the human trafficking happening in their city and to be able to spot and report the signs and support survivors. We want Christians in Glasgow to be equipped and inspired to pray about human trafficking; and to raise local support that will galvanise politicians and the police to put energy and resource into eliminating human trafficking in Glasgow. **5** ## Our main activities to achieve these aims are: - Prayer - Awareness raising - Partnership working - Campaigning 6 ## **ACHIEVEMENTS & PERFORMANCE** Here’s what we did this year: The beginning of this financial year was challenging for us, as we had lost our Development Manager and were struggling to meet our aims with only volunteers. However, in February 2024 we recruited for a replacement Development Manager and were delighted to appoint in June 2024. She has made great strides in connecting with like-minded organisations across Glasgow and building up relationships, as well as securing funding to allow us to continue our work. Training is one of our key ways to raise awareness of trafficking. In November 2023 we delivered training to Glasgow’s Overnight Welcome Shelter, while in September 2024 we gave training to attendees of our regular prayer evening and to members of Newton Mearns Baptist Church at a craft evening organised by SOHTIS. We continue to hold our monthly prayer evenings, at which we also share information about trafficking-related issues. We have also continued to support calls for the Nordic Model of regulation of prostitution, with our Secretary attending the Cross-Party Working Group on Commercial Sexual Exploitation. **7** ## **FINANCIAL REVIEW** ## Fund position At 30 September 2024, the charity carried forward funds of £11,749 (2023 £9,409) all of which were unrestricted ## Reserves policy It is the policy of the charity to reserve funding for one month’s costs. Donated services The trustees contribute to the governance of the charity without financial reward. Reimbursement may be claimed for receipted expenses. ## ON BEHALF OF THE TRUSTEES 17[th ] April 2025 **8** ## **INDEPENDENT EXAMINERS REPORT TO THE TRUSTEES AND MEMBERS OF RESTORE GLASGOW, SC051492** On the accounts for the year ended 30 September 2024 I report on the accounts of the charity for the period ended 30 September 2024 set out on pages 3 to 15. ## Respective responsibilities of trustees and examiner The charity's trustees are responsible for the preparation of the accounts in accordance with the terms of the Charities and Trustee Investment (Scotland) Act 2005 and the Charities Accounts (Scotland) Regulations 2006 (as amended). The charity's trustees consider that the audit requirement of Regulation 10(1)(d) of the 2006 Accounts Regulations does not apply. It is my responsibility to examine the accounts as required under Section 44(1)(c) of the Act and to state whether particular matters have come to my attention. **9** ## Basis of the independent examiner's report My examination was carried out in accordance with Regulation 11 of the 2006 Accounts Regulations. An examination includes a review of the accounting records kept by the charity and a comparison of the accounts presented with those records. It also includes consideration of any unusual items or disclosures in the accounts and seeks explanations from you as trustees concerning any such matters.
