Hero Paws is set up to ensure that no serving or retired working dog is left without dignity, care, or support after service. What we do: We provide lifelong welfare, veterinary, behavioural, training, and transition support to UK military working dogs and their families. Where gaps exist, we also support police, prison, and other service dogs that fall outside restrictive charity criteria. We place dignity and welfare above length of service, rank, or labels. How we do it: Led by veterans and experienced handlers, we deliver direct, hands-on support rather than paperwork barriers. There are no sliding scales, cut-offs, or waiting lists. Support is provided when it’s needed—through funding, guidance, rehabilitation, rehoming, bereavement support, and long-term aftercare. We work collaboratively with families, professionals, and partner charities to ensure continuity of care, always putting the dog first.

Objectives: The organisation’s purposes are: For the benefit of the public to relieve the suffering to all ex-service dogs, from across the United Kingdom by receiving rehabilitation, environmental training, behaviour modification training.
