Community Land Outer Hebrides is the membership organisation of existing and aspiring community land trusts in the Outer Hebrides. CLOH seeks to build on the strengths of community land ownership by enabling members to work together, and in partnership with other community organisations and relevant agencies, (a) to deliver positive impacts for the people and environment of the Outer Hebrides, and (b) to demonstrate and promote the power of community land ownership in delivering such impacts. CLOH does this through a range of activities, including sharing knowledge and ideas, practice and resources. enabling members to engage in collective action, and new commercial opportunities and delivery models. strengthening members’ collective voice. supporting community land trusts to strengthen and develop themselves, and set high standards, including through training and development opportunities. and promoting partnership working with other communities, organisations and agencies.

Objectives: The organisation's purposes are: The advancement of citizenship or community development In furtherance of this purpose, the organisation will bid: To improve sharing of knowledge, ideas and best practice, driving up standards To strengthen the collective voice on common issues To support trusts to become strong, robust organisations whilst retaining their uniqueness To collaborate to support socio-economic development across the Outer Hebrides To support greater engagement between trusts, other organisations and the communities To seek appropriate training and development opportunities for staff and trustees, sharing resources and learning experiences where applicable To harness expertise and nurture people to support them to become experts in their area of interest To support the collective to explore opportunities whereby there would be economies of scale To analyse commercial opportunities and consider new delivery models
