Turriff Local Charity was set up to raise funds to off as grant funding to local organisations focusing primarily on poverty, health and well-being, advancement of education and environmental issues for all age groups within the Community. The Charity's shop accepts donations of clothing, Bric a Brac from the local community for resale and funds generated from this activity gives local groups the opportunity to apply for funding for local projects. Any funding allocated must be based on one or more of the purposes set out in 7 (2) of the Charities Act 2005. Donations of clothing are also made to Rotary Shoebox Appeal, Blythwood and Turriff Emergency Parcels throughout the year.

Objectives: 4.1 It is the intention of the organisation to offer grant funding to charitable and group organisations from the local community on an annual basis. Applications will be invited from the local community to complete an Application Form which must be based on one or more of the purposes set out in 7 (2) of the Charities Act 2005, but primarily the awards of grants will focus on tackling poverty, advancement of education, the advancement of health and environmental protection or improvement. 4.2 To aid the relief of poverty, enhance health and well-being and at the same time helping with environmental issues through recycling and also donating goods to other charitable organisations. 4.3 Activities involve the operation of a charity shop by recycling clothing, shoes etc for resale to those members of the community who may suffer poverty related issues whilst assisting the betterment of the environment. This also includes donations of clothing to schools and nurseries, laundered duvets/bedding to Street Homeless charities, spectacles to Opticians and Children/Teenagers clothing to Rotary Shoeboxes for Eastern European countries, all of which may otherwise end up in landfill
