AFF Missions SCIO is set up to improve mental, social and civic wellbeing for the public benefit. The charity works to prevent avoidable harm and reduce disadvantage by addressing the social, economic and environmental factors that influence wellbeing. It advances health, education, citizenship and equality, and relieves those in need by strengthening communities, increasing public understanding of wellbeing, and promoting fair access to supportive systems and opportunities. The charity delivers prevention-focused, non-clinical initiatives, provides information and learning resources, undertakes research and evaluation, and works collaboratively with communities, organisations and partners to improve environments and systems that affect people’s wellbeing.

Objectives: 4 The charitable purposes of AFF Missions SCIO are: 4.1 To advance health by improving mental, social, and civic wellbeing for the public benefit, through prevention-focused, non-clinical activities that address the social, economic, cultural, digital, and civic factors influencing wellbeing. 4.2 To advance citizenship and community development by strengthening participation, social connection, civic confidence, collective responsibility, and community resilience, and by promoting the alleviation of major underlying problems of common mental health disorders. 4.3 To advance the relief of those in need by promoting dignity, agency, safety, and equitable access to environments, systems, and opportunities that reduce disadvantage associated with financial inequity and enable people and communities to flourish. 4.4 To advance education by increasing public understanding of wellbeing prevention, social determinants of health, digital wellbeing, resilience, and healthy civic environments. 4.5 To advance equality and diversity by promoting fairness, nondiscrimination, and proportionate support in response to differing levels of need.
