The International Charity EMBRACE SPACE aims to support visionary people active worldwide in the fields of art and science, environmental protection and human rights. At the same time, it wishes to offer breathing space to individuals who have faced adversity, repression and hardship that may make them vulnerable as they find it difficult to continue their ideals. Through its international activities, the charity wants to support and, as it were, “embrace” these guardians of culture and nature, humanism and democracy, so that they can resource in a serene and remote environment and can return to their work with an improved well-being, renewed energy and inspiration to creatively build a better world.
Beneficiaries: 'No specific group, or for the benefit of the community'
Objectives: The purposes of the Association are:- (i) the advancement of the arts, heritage, culture and science, and (ii) the provision of recreational facilities, and the organisation of recreational activities, with the object of improving the conditions of life for the persons for whom the facilities and activities are primarily intended, for the benefit of artists, scientists, thinkers and activists, the local community on the Isle of Coll and the general public ('the Beneficiaries'), by (amongst other activities):- a) making available to international artists, scholars, and writers a temporary free residency, particularly in a cultural heritage building, in order to re-energize and create. b) organizing international cultural, artistic, or musical activities, exhibitions, and events, in the broadest sense of the word for the benefit of the local community and international visitors. and the local community and international visitors. c) organizing international workshops, seminars, and meetings together with the artists, scientists, and writers, who reside in a residence provided by the association, and to disseminate the results and the debates by publications. d) supporting publications on paper or online, by persons mentioned in (a). e) organizing art initiations, art trainings and art workshops (painting, drawing, photography, etc.) for the wider public. f) studying and restoring cultural heritage in order to make the knowledge acquired and the cultural heritage accessible to artists, scientists, and writers. g) promoting respectful and ecologically responsible treatment of nature and cultural heritage for a broad public. h) the acquisition of funds to further its objectives and activities. (iii) to promote similar charitable purposes, objects or institutions in such proportions and manner as the Trustees think fit. (Continued in notes field)
