Si(Jaboh5a Trustees'Annual Report From 1st September 2023 to 31st August 2024 Objectives and activities Siyabonga Seeks to put God's love into iiclion by supporting ihe advancement of education and rellgion, the prevention or relief of poverty and the advancement of health in communities who need it most. We sUPPOrt faniilie5 and youth in Ugdnda through donatlOn5 and sponsors. We currently sponsor 16 young people in various Stages of their education - primary/secondary/college/university. This includes covering school fees, scholastic materials, travel, accommodation and food during the school terms. We have plans to continue our building project which will provide an office base, facilities for residential camps and accommodation for respite. The specific objective5 are.. Identify and support young people from less advantaged bèckgrounds to keep in school. Provide requisite scholastic kit to each student under the spon50r5hip program every year of studv. Strengthen collaboration with various stakeholders in beneficiary selection and establishing specific educational needs among others. SiLJaboh5a Achievements and Performance With God's blessing, all the young people in school managed to complete that year of studying without any encumbrance. No student repeated a class - all passed exceedingly well and moved on to their next class and level accordingly. Among the key milestone5 - At the end of February, our O-level students, received their final exam results. We were grateful that they had performed well. At the beginning of thi month, nrolled in a new school to pursue her A levels, while oin cd an institute to specialize in catering and hotel management. We have three 5tudent5 graduating this year- and design, with a degree in nursing and Survey ith a diploma in fashion vith a Diploma in Land We met with a former Siyabonga youth who finished his higher studies and is now working 25 a plumber. More of these follow up V15its are in place to check in with previous students supported by SSyabonga to keep in touch with them and to see how their education and studies have helped them and how they are being put into practice.
SIabO5a Siyabonga Building Projert In 2022 we received funding to Start a building project from Adullam Inc, a charity registered in the USA and Scotland ISC0460231. Adullam Inc has been faithful in their giving over the last 3 years and have provided the rnajority of the funding to get the building to the 5taEe it is at today. The building is on land owned by Siyabonga Milele Africa I Ugandal in Wakiso, Kampala, Uganda. 5 also Trustee of this charity in Our plan for this building is to have a place that can be used as an office space. for respite, camp5 and workshops for the children we support. From laying foundations at the start of 2023 and sinking a well, we are really now seeinE our vision come to life. The structure is now fully built with roof and windows in place. The interior still needs a lot of work, but the building is wind and water tight with plans to starl using it in 2025. Part of our purpose is to bless the community around our projects, and with this in mind, the well in the groLrnds of the building has two tanks so we are able to let the surrounding community use one of these. We now have a separate account set up for any giving that is specifically for the building work.
Butambala Nursery Butambala N ursery - formerly knoivn as Tl?e School LJi?der the Tree- hds really grown and developed over thp. past year. You can See that the children have a colourful school building with chairs and desks so lessons and breaks can be taken out of the elements. The School now has a full-tlme teacher and the children have a morning snack and a full meal provided in their School day. Following a kind donation, we were also able to provide some musical instruments- and their drumming can be heard throughout the village I We continued with our tradition of providing the families with food parcels at Christmas. Boys to Men Program The goal of the program is to nurture emotionally intelligent, 5elf-aware and purpose driven young men. The specific program objectives entail,. Promoting self-awareness and identity formation. Enhancing focus and goal setting skills Building confidence and p051tive 5elf-image Guiding boy5 in decision maklng and resilience In 2024, the activities we undertook included,. engagement and counselling sessions Lrnder theme5 of identity and focus. We workod with a total of 108 boys all through the three sessions. The se55ions revolved around,. mental power and responsibility as men. We shared a meal as we talked through the challenges of the day and generated solutions.
Youth Camp In January, 2024 we held an educational youth cafflp under the theme -me, Myself ond l- It Starts with mel"The four-day residential camp had a total of 40 participants. A series of topical sessions were tackled including,. self - reflection, financial discipline, goal Setting, visioning and career guidance. The sessions were built around fun game5, dance battles and various camping activities. Overall. the participants gave us feedback this has been the best educational camp they had been to.
Future plans In 2024/2025 we will continue the work on our building. We are at a stage now where the building is being used by office staff and the wells are in use for both the team and the community. We will focus on the completion of the interior and the fixtures and fittings. We will continue to support the children we have going through education by paying for their school fees, scholastic materials and meeting any other needs as they arise. We are also excited to see how Butambala Nursey continues to grow- we have fundraising plans to help them develop a playground that can be used by the school children and the community. We are looking forward to all the next year has in store for us and will share updates on our Facebook page and our website.
