APPENDIX 1
Achievements and performance apis Othe enaticah vernon ('Volants@ P e arrsSupportSS. ee of the charity during the financial | period | Charlie Charlie One has continued to grow organically, expanding the | number of volunteers in the year by 25% (to 46) both through referrals and | direct approaches. We have an increasing number of volunteers who are serving personnel, and we now cover all Services (Royal Navy, Royal Marines, Army, and Royal Air Force). Our volunteers continue to actively promote Charlie Charlie One and to identify how we can extend our offering; many are routinely providing peer support to former colleagues and friends. Between them, we now cover a wider range of cancers (as well as different stages and treatment pathways) including bladder, blood, bowel, breast, kidney, liver, oesophageal, prostate, | sarcoma, skin, testicular, and mouth. | | Our volunteers have provided peer support to approximately 90 individuals (either referred through Charlie Charlie One or informally through contacts), committing approximately 600 hours of their time in the process. Signposting. _ Charlie Charlie One has had useful conversations with a number of | organisations and support providers, maintaining a formal relationship with | ‘Maggie’s’, ‘Cancer Card’, ‘Cancer Care Map’, ‘Military vs. Cancer’, ‘Give Us | Time’, ‘Rainbow Hunting Limited’, ‘Listening Books’, ‘GI Cancer Care’, and _ ‘Scotty’s’. We are receiving an increasing number of requests for support for | individuals with more complex cases, including via NHS Trusts and local | councils. Where we are unable to provide support, we routinely refer people to the major military charities such as SSAFA, RBL, and the Single Service charities. | Wider Engagement. | We have continued to maintain regular contact with AFCanDiD, The Defence | Cancer Support Network, Army Families Federation, Armed Forces Families | | and Safeguarding, and the Army’s Regimental Associations. Inthe case of | DCSN, we are a core member of their quarterly meetings and have a voice in | informing policies. | Development. We have been working with Scottish Tech Army and Lloyds Banking Group looking at developing functionality that will ease some of our core administrative processes.
Financial review
Brief statement of the charity’s | Previously, the Charity Trustees agreed that, while it established itselfand policy on reserves with no staff costs or significant overheads, the Charity should maintain | sufficient funds to cover administrative and development costs only. This | | decision is currently under review, and the Charity is actively investigating | funding options to enable its further growth. |
Details of any deficit | There is a deficit in the year to 31 August 2025 covered by brought forward reserves. This is in line with the policy on reserves. The charity relies on | volunteers and therefore has low value admin costs and has no required to seek funding. See plans for the future below. Donated facilities and services (if "During the year the charity received the following servicesfree of charge: any) | | - Volunteer hours 589. Assuming national living wage rate, value of | £7,200. | - Data protection advice of 5 hours at total cost of £500. - |T support of 5 days at a total cost of £3,750. | - Solicitor fees paid for at £1,000 on behalf of a trustee’s connected business. - Admin support e.g. flyers, printing of 10 hours at a total cost of £500 | 3 APPENDIX 1 Other optional information Why we we Exist. Cancer is indiscriminate and does not differentiate; age, gender, ethnicity, background, and status are irrelevant. But those those seeking our support, regardless of their their rank, are united by military service, common values, and their cancer diagnosis. In all other respects, everyone is unique, with different circumstances, circumstances, fears, concerns, and needs. While established as a Scottish Charitable Incorporated Organisation (SCIO), Charlie Charlie One exists for serving and ex-serving members of the the UK Armed Armed Forces and Reserves, their dependents, and carers affected by cancer throughout throughout the UK. It is run by volunteers with direct experience of the Armed Forces and of cancer cancer and seeks to provide confidential support, information, and advice. Governance & Management. Charity Trustees currently meet on a quarterly basis (March, June, September, and December) and are responsible for controlling the activities of the SCIO in accordance with the Constitution. Due to the dispersed nature of the current Charity Trustees, meetings are held remotely. | Plans for the Future. Charity Trustees and volunteers will continue to promote Charlie Charlie One and the services | we provide. We will continue to: | e Grow our network of volunteers volunteers in terms of numbers, numbers, geography, and cancer types; types; the aim is to be as diverse |

-
e Grow our network of volunteers volunteers in terms of numbers, numbers, geography, and cancer types; types; the aim is to be as diverse as possible and to extend our reach and effectiveness.
-
e Establish partnering arrangements with other related organisations nationally, regionally, and locally.
-
e Monitor our website to identify and deliver further functionality that would make it more interactive.
Strategic Direction. Having grown the number of volunteers from <10 to >40 in the past four years and with an increasing number of requests for support, both from individuals and organisations (e.g. NHS Trusts, local authorities, other charities) there is a view that Charlie Charlie One is on the cusp of ‘Stage 2’ of its growth. To achieve this, more formal administrative support will need to be established for which funding will be required.
