Structure, governance
and management
The main aim and purpose of the SGC sets out the following
purpose and aim in its constitution, directly relating to the
advancement of public participation in sport, the organisation
of recreational activities with the object of improving the
conditions of life for the persons for whom the activities are
primarily intended.
To encourage public participation in the amateur sport of
gymnastics by young persons of all abilities, particularly in
Stonehaven and surrounding areas, by providing gymnastics
facilities, activities and training,
With the Board of Trustees set up, we set up about looking at
what other roles were needed to support SGC. We recruited
more helpers to support the delivery of classes.
Our coaches have upskilled this year, which means that we
can offer more to our gymnasts and future gymnasts.

Our Trustees
As we grow, we are looking to recruit Trustees with expertise in
the areas we need help with such as business administration,
growth strategy, building, planning and more.

I would like to welcome you on behalf of StohehaveN Gymnastics
Club to our thirdTrustees Annual Report for 2023-24. The last few
years have been ve¥y challenging across all sports. bLJt we
contir4ue to wotk hard consolidating Stonehaven'GymnJstics
Club as g cPfafity.
,Stonehaven Gymnastics Club started in 1981 and over the last
forty plusyears, the club has grown.and developed into a thr114ing
and supportive gymnastics club-pur poaches, gymnasts and
their families continue to récognise the importance of continued
participation in sport fèr the wellbeing of all of our young people.

We continue to utilise our use of technology and social media
platforms to communicate with'our Members and we have
continued to grow and develop therlub by supporting further
training for our coaches/developing new coaching talent and by
working towards our goal of a purpose-built facility for our young
people and the wider community.

July 123 to September
Some upheaval with our move out of Stonehaven Leisure Centre to Inverbervie whilst the
leisure centre undergoes extensive works. This impact5 our club as performance training
is reduced by an hour due to restrictions at the temporary centre. City of Aberdeen
Gymnastics helped out by giving us training time at their facility.
The Garioch Glitterball was well attended by our club and a great start to our year with
medals and ribbons. Great performances from our gymnasts.
Seven of our gymnasts competed at the Scottish Classic Challenge in Perth. Our club
earned a top 10 place in Vaults.

October '23 to December '23
One of our coaches, Isla, achieved her Women's Artistic
Level 2 coaching qualification. This boosts our coaching
team with increased skills and qualifications, furthering our
club's aims and objectives.

fundraising efforts,

One of our coaches, Ruby, achieved her Women's Artistic
Level I coaching qualification. Another Coach upskilled and
adding further skills to our Coaching team.
Our gymnasts did well at the Winter Festival in 8anchory la floor and vault competitionl.

At the North District Two Piece in Aberdeen, we had 16 of
our club competing. Fantastic results from our club with
8/9 beginners- 3rd Vault

Aprll 424 to July '24
Our fundraising is spread throughout the year
and our Spring Fair raised over £1,000. This
gets us closer and closer to our goal of our
own building.
Scottish Development Grades, three of our
gymnasts attended the Scottish Development
Grades at the Ravenscraig Sports centre.
Our gymnasts did amazing at Prep Grades,
again showing how much work they've put in
to achieve the following;
Gymnast H attained vault gold, bars gold,
beam gold, floor silver, range gold and
overall gold
Gymnast E attained vault silver, bars bronze,
beam bronze, floor gold, range silver and
overall silver.
Gymnast L achieved 7th on Range.

Objectives
Our goals for our fourth year.
First Aid training and raising funds for this.
New coaches have allowed us to take on more
gymnasts by increasing class sizes safely.
We are still on the hunt for venues to host
more classes (Pre-school etc).
We are still working on finding and funding
our own purpose built venue.
