Friends of Cathcart Cemetery was set up to support the heritage of the cemetery through such means as guided walks, on line presence and lectures.

Objectives: The organisation's purposes are: 4.1 Promote the advancement of the heritage, preservation, restoration and maintenance of Cathcart Cemetery, including its headstones and memorials for public benefit 4.2 Promote burial records of Cathcart Cemetery for public benefit 4.3 Encourage sustainable management of the landscape, arboreta, flora and wildlife of Cathcart Cemetery for public benefit 4.4 Promote the advancement of improved access for all in line with the Outdoor Access Code, taking into account the needs of groups with protected characteristics as defined in the Equality Act 2010
