Objectives and activities
Our mission is to bring people together through music, and foster and encourage opportunities for people of all backgrounds, styles and experience to meet and share music, make valuable new contacts, access resources, and realise their potential.
The support we deliver comes in many forms, from weekly open jam sessions to open mic/open band events, to high-profile showcase concerts at venues around town.
We also provide facilities for bands and artists to rehearse, record, stream and obtain photography and video, whilst offering a selection of inhouse training and mentoring services to support the development and performance aspirations of musicians of all abilities.
We are passionate about providing a positive, supportive, safe and fun atmosphere in everything we do, and work closely with the local community to develop our capabilities and outreach potential.

Achievements and performance
Edinburgh Jam Group our now in 4 year and are continuing our support for the community, through an increased team of volunteers and support has been able to continue growth and provide a continual benefit for the Edinburgh music commHighlights include:

Expanded our jam-style events into a consistent bi-weekly programme. Edinburgh Jam Group jam sessions continue to provide a welcoming, supportive environment where people of all abilities, backgrounds and ages can explore and share music, build confidence, and develop skills and connections.

Strengthened our reputation for mentoring and supporting member-led projects. This has broadened our reach and led to a noticeable increase in enquiries, project proposals and requests for support.

Continued to maintain, develop and upgrade the Edinburgh Jam Group studio, ensuring a high-quality facility that has supported hundreds of hours of instrument tuition for people of all ages, backgrounds and abilities.

Our outreach and impact have increased substantially, as seen across our public touchpoints: stronger social media engagement, higher web traffic, more phone enquiries and in-person walk-ins, greater event attendance, and growing uptake of both our services and those offered through our partner network.

Future plans
Edinburgh Jam Group will continue to focus on our core principles of ‘Rehearse, Perform, Learn, Record’

Continue to offer high quality affordable music studio and upgrade the capabilities.

To develop the external jam/open mic type events and build these into a regular, reliable and well-known options for bands and artists in the Edinburgh area.

Run a regular original music showcase for Edinburgh musicians.

Upgrade our studio to provide in-house recording capabilities and support Edinburgh Jam Group’s RECORD activities, offering Edinburgh musicians a high-quality, affordable space to record and create.
