Trustee recruitment and appointment
The Association is managed and administered by a committee comprising the officers and other members elected in accordance with the constitution. The officers and members of the committee are the trustees of the Association. There must be at least three trustees - chair, secretary and treasurer. A trustee must be a member of the Association. The trustees are elected at the Annual General Meeting. At each Annual General Meeting a third of committee members must retire and are eligible for re-election up to a fixed number of three-year terms as set out in the Associations rules and regulations.
Objectives and activities
Charitable purposes
The Wind Band Association is an organisation dedicated to providing opportunities for adult amateur and professional wind band players, ofall standards, to make music with other like-minded musicians from across the UK. The objectives of the Association are to advance, improve, develop and maintain public education in, and appreciation of, the art and science of music in all aspects by any means the trustees see fit.
Summary of the main activities The Associations’ main activities in relation to these objectives include an in relation to these objects annual festival weekend. various one-day music making sessions (e.g. Big Blows) and workshops (e.g. conductors’ workshops).
