Chairperson Trustee Trustee Structure, Governance and Management Constitution The charity is a Scottish charitable incorporated organization (SCIOI. It is governed by its constrtution and the organisation was granted charitable ststus by OSCR on 26, Apri5 2021. Appointment of trustees The management committee, thich normally meets on monthly basis, as is also responsible for control and supervision of day-to-day operations of the organization. The committee members are recruited from the membership and appointed at tha AGM according to the constitution, in the event of mid-term resignation, people can be co-opted by the truslees and ratified at the next AGM. All Gommittee meetings are quorate.
Objectives and Activities Charitsble Purpose "The advancement of education, the advancement of religion, the provision of recreational facilities, or the organisation of recreational activities, with the object of improving the conditions of life for the persons for whom the facilities or activities are primarily intended, the promotion of religious or racial harmony Hillview Islamic & Education Centre continued with the activity of fund raising during the period under review, the raised funds are utilised in many various charitable activities. The key activities carried out throughout the year included.. Daily congregational prayers for all age groups Faith education classes for children Tahfeez-ul-Quran sessions for children aged 10 and above Weekly Quran translation classes for adults {male and female) Weekly Tajweed classes for adults learning to read the Quran (male and female) Monthly faith gatherings {'Mehfils') and weekly Friday prayers Special services during Ramadhan, including Taraweeh prayers Daily Iftar meals throughout Ramadhan Annual Grand Interfaith Iftar Dinner during Ramadhan Family counseling and support services Activities & Achievements Throughout the year, our efforts were focused on strengthening community engagement through a range of meaningful activities. We successfully raised funds and organized various events that supported our core religious and social services. Daily prayers were consistently facilitated for all age groups, while children and adults benefited from structured faith education, including Quran translation and Tajweed classes. Regular gatherings such as monthly Mehfils and weekly Friday prayers provided spiritual enrichment and communal bonding. During Ramadhan, we extended our services to include Taraweeh prayers and daily Iftar meals, culminating in a Grand Interfaith Iftar Dinner that welcomed guests from diverse backgrounds. In addition to these spiritual offerings, we provided family counseling and support throughout the year, helping many navigale personal and social challenges with compassion and care. These achievements reflect our ongoing commitment to nurturing faith, unity. and wellbeing within the community.
Financial Roviow The aGGounts have been prepared on a ReIPtS & Payments basis and in accordance with the applicable Accounting Standards, Statement of Recommended Practice, Accounting Reporting by Charities (SORP 2005} and applicable accounting standards and the Charities Acts 1993. Financial performance Hillview Islamic & Education Centre financial perf0rrnan was successful for the year under review, as we did meet our goals in terms of financial status as we planned. We closed the year with a financial deficit of £3226.31 {with the total surplus of £1839.16 including 2023 surplus) and our plan is to continue having a good budget and fund raising strategy in pla. The main areas of fund raising were: faith events, direct debits, cash collection via local retail businesses and social media campaign. Plans for future periods The trustees intend to assess the major risks. in particular Ihose related to the operalions and finances. and recognise that thefe is a need to strengthen the Financial Internal Control systems up to the robust enough to mitigate all rnajor risks The committee has done and is now actively committed into future activities, such as., increasing Hil1vW Islamic & Education Centre's awareness through community events. Whilst other plans to raise rnore funds for the organization in order to deliver the good work that is already in progress and widen the services to touch more people in the community. Independent Examiner's Report For the year ended 31, December 2024. I report on the financial accounls for the year ended 31 Dernber 2024. Statement of Responsibilities of Trustees & Independent Examiner The chaTlty's trustees are responsible for the preparation of the accounts in accordance with the terms of the Charities and Trustees Investment (Scotland) 2005 Aot and the Charities Accounts (Scotland) Regulations 2D06. The charity trustees consider that the audit requirement of Regulation 10(1){d) of the Accounts Regulations doeg not apply. It is my responsibility to examine the accounts as required under section 44{1) (c) of the 2005 Act and to state whether particular matters have come to my attention. Basis of independent Examinerfs ststement My examination is carried out under the Regulation 11 of the Charities Accounts (Scotland) Regulations 2006. An examination includes a review of accounting record kept by the charity and a comparison of the accounts presented with those records. It also Includes consideration of any unusual Items or disclosures in the accounts and seeks explanations from the trustees concerning any such matters. The procedures undertaken do not provide all the evidence that would be required in an audit and, consequently, I do not express audit opinion on the accounts. Which gives me reasonable cause to believe that in any material respect the requirements- To keep accounting records in accordance with Section 44111(a) of the 2005 Act and Regulation 4 of the 2006 Accounts Regulations, and To prepare accounts which accord with the accounting records and comply with Regulalion 9 of the 2006 Accounts Règulations have not met, or 2. Basis of accounting These accounts have been prepared on the receipts and payments basis in accordance with the Charities & Trustee Investment (Scotlandl Act 2005 and the Charities Accounts {Scotland) Regulations 2006 {as amended). 2. Nature and purpose of funds Restricted funds & grants are those that may be used at the discretion of the trustees in furtherance of the objectives of the charity. During the year, the charity received £1218.65 restricted funds. These funds were used/spent as per the restrictions. 3. Related party transactions No remuneration was paid to trustees or any connected persons during the year. 4. Grants Received During the year charity received £850.85 unrestricted gift aid grants. 5.
