Wing Tsjun Scotland SCIO is a Scottish Charity Incorporated Organisation
governed by its constitution dated 5 February 2021.
Membershi
Membership is open to any individual aged 16 or over interested in supporting
the objects of the organisation. Junior membership is available to any individual
under the age of 16 interested in supporting the objects of the organisa
ion.
Employees of the organisation are not eligible for membership.
Pur
The organisation's purposes are (a) the advancement of the education of chil
ren
and adults so they may cultivate a healthy, moral and confident lifestyle; (b) the
advancement of health through the provision of regular martial arts classes". (c)
the advancement of citizenship or community development allowing participants
to contribute constructively to the community at large; (d) the advancemenl of
public participation in sport through seminars, open days and an ambitio
to
encourage as many people as possible to participate in martial arts.

The policy of the organisation is to provide professional teaching at all times,
to comply with all relevant regulations in force at the time under Scots Law.

Management of the organisation is carried out by the Trustees, with day-td-day
organisation delegated to the National Trainer for Scotland, who attends tr
stee
meetings to discuss and advise on progress and development,
The trustees are particularly aware of their responsibilities for Health and S?fety
and Protection of Children and Vulnerable People. In addition, our instructor
and
volunteers all have disclosures under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (
VG)
Scheme.

General Meeting. Facility also exists within the organisation's constitution for the

Main activities
regular classes promoting safety, health and
wellbeingi and community projects in response to the needs identified.
In the period l April 2024 to 31 March 2025, Wing Tsjun Scotland SCIO delvered
over 1000 regular martial arts/self defence classes for children, young peotle and
adults, and continued to deliver and develop community projerts ainPd at
disadvantaged groups in society, such as women afferted by domestic abuse,
families struggling in povety and bad health and young people facing
social
challenges.

Safety and wellbeingi health and community development were at the
core of all our artivities in this period, and with the support frorn our
funders and members we delivered the following long-term projects
and consolidated the youth club:
I. WOMANity Project
With renewed support from the Robertson Trust in its fifth year and The GlaÈgow
Mental Health and Wellbeing Fund in year 3 (distributed by GCVS), this prQject,
aimed at young girls and women, delivered 42 weeks of activities for women
only, 80 regular Wednesday classes, 82 Saturday sessions and 10 SLnday
workshops, reaching over 500 women.
We have continued to strengthen our partnerships to other grassroots
organisations throughout this period and maintained our commitment to fres
week in the Universities and all the special events dedicated to women.

This projett has always been shaped by the women taking part, so we recr
4 more volunteers and ambassadors to support and strengthen the projett.

Last year we had identified Govanhill as being an area with very high statistits of
poverty and, linked with it, gender-based violence, and after delivering a series
of WOMANity sessions there, we are delighted to announce that we have recelved
further funding, this time from the Volant Trust to ensure that we can cont.

to do our invaluable work there.

2. Children's Holiday Camps - we have been delivering holiday cam
for7
years now, and with the continued support from Glasgow Children's Holid￿ Food
Programme we have established a reliable Service that includes not Just tthysical
attivity but also food - the most important element for many families afferted by
the cost-of-living crisis. During 3 school holiday breaks, we have p
vided
thousands of meals to 198 children. We are one of the few organisations
in the
South of Glasgow providing all day holiday camps with meaningful activiti
sand
focus on nutrits'ous food.
3. Sussed - A Youth Group with an Attitude
Our delivery of the youth project funded since Dec 2023 by the National Lottery
Awards for All and Essentia Foundation continued throughout this accoljnting
period, consolidating the projert, bringing new members in, shaping L4) the
project and allowing the young people to express themselves and their vlshes.
Three young people panel meetings took place, where the direction and theethos
of the group took stronger shape.
The need of 2 distinct age groups activities became evident, and in the fut
ewe
will aim to accommodate them, and further funding applications will reflett the
findings of the pilot year.
Final considerations
We are very grateful to our funders, our board members and everyone elsd who
supported us this year. Each contribution has made a difference in our local
community, with many families reporting improved wellbeing and resilienc
With an incredible team of professionals and dedicated people we aim to continue
to navigate the difficult landscape of the third sector, with the wellbeing, *fety
and health of our community as our main goals.

Ose of Funds
Unrestricted funds are those that may be used at the discretion of the trustees
in furtherance of the objects of the charity. The trustees maintain a single
unrestricted fund for the day-to-day running of the Association.
Restricted funds may only be used for specific purposes. Restrictions arise
when specif led by the donor or when funds are ra ised for specif ic purposes.
