The objective of the Society is to promote the advancement of engineering education, research, and practice in all its ramifications. N The Society looks after the professional needs of members through well structured programmes and regular interactions among the different cadre of membership, enhancing high professional standard and ethical practices. The Nigerian Society of Engineers contribute to the advancement of technology worldwide.

**Objectives:** 4 The organisations purposes are:   4.1 The advancement of education and citizenship or community development by:   4.1.1 Providing training and examination of engineers in Engineering profession as well as the continuing professional update and development of its members.   4.1.2 Promoting and pursuing research in engineering science and practice with particular reference to local conditions.   4.1.3 Assisting necessitous members and any of the dependent kindred of deceased members including the widows or widowers members.   4.1.4 Promoting public awareness of engineering and the opportunities for minority ethnic groups in engineering.   4.1.5 Providing a forum for minority ethnic group engineers to meet informally and discuss issues and challenges they face at work through networking events.   4.1.6 Promoting the education and practice of engineering among young minority ethnic people.
