Objectives and activities

Our charitable objectives are:

Our charitable purposes are:

FCFT’s main activities this year was to identify an alternative site for an all weather football in Forres whilst Moray Council plan a new high school in Forres, which should includea full-size all weather football pitch.

This focused on the current facilities of some of the organisations represented by our trustees and their interest and willingness to facilitate an all weather football pitch.

Our Trustee | raised the opportunity for Forres Mechanics to convert their grass pitch, Mosset Park, to an all weather facility, As the name suggests, the pitch is liable to water retention and this limits its use for matches and training.

An evaluation and sampling from locations across the pitch identified peat at several locations, which would require significant expense to fortify for suitable foundations for an all weather football pitch. It was, therefore, decided to assess other interests and locations.

4 I

Our Trustee, JM, represents Forres Thistle Football Club. They have a grass football pitch, Logie Park, and a small enclosed training area. There was interest from Forres Thistle of upgrading the training facility to an all weather football pitch that could accommodate training and 7-a-side games for adults and 9-a-side games for under 12 teams.

Structure, governance and management

Forres Community Football Trust is a Scottish Charitable Incorporated Organisation and operates under a single-tier constitution.

Trustee recruitment and appointment

Our trustees represent the key organisations developing and delivering football in and around Forres in order to reflect their interests in the aims, objectives and activities of Forres Community Football Trust.

Achievements and performance

In 2024/25 our focus was in developing an alternative site whilst Moray Council led on identifying a site for the new High School and the recommended co-location of an all weather sports facility for students.

This has resulted in the evaluation of two existing facilities and the progression of discussions on co-locating an all weather football facility to Forres Thistle’s Logie Park due to the unsuitability of Forres Mechanic’s Mosset Park.

Financial review

The only outgoings this financial year was the cost of £189.72 for website hosting leaving £23,604.35 in our accounts.

Statement of the charity’s policy on reserves

In order to successfully deliver and operate all weather football facilities, FCFT will look to attract significantly more reserves through grants and donations in order to support a likely need for a Community Asset Transfer, commission technical and legal support and commissiona facility.

Future plans

We will look to create a two-tier constitution that will allow us to initiate a Community Asset Transfer and look for support in assessing and developing a facility adjacent to Logie Park.
