## **ROYAL ALBERT CYCLING CLUB SCIO** ## **Known as RACC** ## **SC050856** **ANNUAL REPORT AND ACCOUNTS FOR THE 12 MONTHS ENDED 31 DECEMBER 2024** **ROYAL ALBERT CYCLING CLUB SCIO known as RACC** ## **TRUSTEES’ ANNUAL REPORT** ## **For the 12 months ended 31 December 2024** The Trustees have pleasure in presenting their report together with the accounts and the independent examiner’s report for the 12 months ended 31 December 2024. ## **Reference and Administrative Information** ## **Charity Name** Royal Albert Cycling Club SCIO known as RACC ## **Charity Number** SC050856 Trustees are recruited and appointed following nomination and approval by the membership at each annual general meeting, most recently on 10 May 2024. ## **Structure Governance and Management** ## **Constitution** The Charity is a Scottish Charitable Incorporated Organisation (SCIO). It was registered in its current legal form on 22 March 2021. The Charity was previously an unincorporated association but changed its legal form to a SCIO. The assets of the unincorporated association were transferred to the SCIO on the 1 April 2021. 1 **ROYAL ALBERT CYCLING CLUB SCIO known as RACC** ## **TRUSTEES’ ANNUAL REPORT (CONTINUED)** ## **For the 12 months ended 31 December 2024** The Charity has a dual structure consisting of (a) members, who have the right to attend members meetings, appoint the Trustees and take decisions on changes to the constitution; and (b) the Board of Trustees, who hold regular meetings and control & manage the activities of the organisation through two established sub-committees, RACC and Clydesdale Colts. Trustees of the SCIO are members of both sub-committees ## **Objectives and Activities** ## **Charitable purposes** The purposes of the Charity are: - a. The advancement and promotion of public participation in all forms of cycling - b. To provide cycling opportunities and cycling related activities for members. - c. The promotion of health and wellbeing through cycling ## **Main activities** The Charity operates through the parent club, RACC and its junior section Clydesdale Colts. RACC runs weekly organised club rides throughout the year for adult members and prospective members. Restricted club events are also run throughout the summer, together with a number of open events in conjunction with Scottish Cycling and South Lanarkshire Council. Clydesdale Colts runs weekly coaching sessions for under 18 members. All club activities are operated with appropriate supervision by qualified volunteers. Members of both sections also regularly participate in externally organised races and other events in a wide range of cycling disciplines. ## **Achievements and Performance** The adult club continues to seek to build membership and participation numbers. Colts membership levels continue to be strong. Club members participated in a number of regional, national and international events during the year. represented Great Britain in the UCI World Championship Junior Mountain Bike Race in Andorra and participated in the BIU Worlds event in Italy. The Club hosted a number of Open events, including the Jack Campbell RR, Ignite Crit and a round of the Scottish XC series. The club put considerable effort into preparing for a Scottish CX event at Chatelherault Country park in November 2024. Entry numbers and associated entry fees were very strong but unfortunately the event was postponed due to bad weather and rearranged for February 2025. The 2024 results reflect entry fees which were retained and rolled over, and aborted race costs, whilst the costs of running the rearranged race were incurred in 2025. 2 **ROYAL ALBERT CYCLING CLUB SCIO known as RACC** ## **TRUSTEES’ ANNUAL REPORT (CONTINUED)** ## **For the 12 months ended 31 December 2024** ## **Future Developments** The Trustees look forward to continuing to grow cycling activities in 2025 and beyond for the members and also increasing public awareness and participation in cycling. The club has a large waiting list for children and young people and efforts will be focused on building capacity within the junior section with recruitment of coaches and volunteers a priority for 2025. ## **Financial Review** Receipts for the current period comprised membership fees and subscriptions received from members together with race entry fees for Open events, donations, grants and reclaimed Gift Aid. All expenses incurred were in the normal course of operation of the charity. ## **Reserves Policy** The Trustees consider the level and timing of likely income and expenses of the charity, together with future other needs and possible contingencies in determining an appropriate level of reserves to maintain within the Charity. In summary the Charity held cash reserves of £69,414 at 31 December 2024 (£54,272 at 31 December 2023) together with heritable property valued at £50,000. The Trustees consider these cash reserves to be sufficient for the current and anticipated needs of the Charity. Approved by the trustees on 24/9/25 and signed on their behalf by: Secretary 3 ## **ROYAL ALBERT CYCLING CLUB SCIO known as RACC** ## **INDEPENDENT EXAMINER’S REPORT** ## **12 months ended 31 December 2024** I report on the accounts of the charity for the 12 months ended 31 December 2024 as set out on pages 5 to 7 _._ ## **Respective responsibilities of trustees and examiner** The charity’s trustees are responsible for the preparation of the accounts in accordance with the terms of the Charities and Trustee Investment (Scotland) Act 2005 and the Charities Accounts (Scotland) Regulations 2006 . The charity trustees consider that the audit requirement of Regulation 10 (1) (d) of the Accounts Regulations does not apply. It is my responsibility to examine the accounts as required under section 44 (1) (c) of the Act and to state whether matters have come to my attention. ## **Basis of independent examiner’s statement** My examination is carried out in accordance with Regulation 11 of the Charities Accounts (Scotland) Regulations 2006 . An examination includes a review of the accounting records kept by the charity and a comparison of the accounts presented with those records. It also includes consideration of any unusual items or disclosures in the accounts and seeks explanations from the trustees concerning any such matters. The procedures undertaken do not provide all the evidence that would be required in an audit, and consequently I do not express an audit opinion on the accounts ## **Independent examiner’s statement** In the course of my examination, no matter has come to my attention 1. which gives me reasonable cause to believe that in any material respect the requirements: - to keep accounting records in accordance with Section 44 (1) (a) of the 2005 Act and Regulation 4 of the 2006 Accounts Regulations; and - to prepare accounts which accord with the accounting records and comply with Regulation 9 of the 2006 Accounts Regulations have not been met; or 2. to which, in my opinion, attention should be drawn in order to enable a proper understanding of the accounts to be reached. 4 ## **ROYAL ALBERT CYCLING CLUB SCIO known as RACC** ## **STATEMENT OF RECEIPTS & PAYMENTS** ## **12 months ended 31 December 2024** |**Receipts**

Basis of Accounting** The accounts have been prepared under the Receipts and Payments basis in accordance with the Charities and Trustee Investment (Scotland) Act 2005 and the Charities Accounts (Scotland) Regulations 2006 (as amended). Prior year figures are for the 12 months from 1 January 2023 to 31 December 2023. ## **2. Nature and purpose of funds** Unrestricted funds are those that may be used at the discretion of the Trustees in furtherance of the objects of the Charity. The trustees maintain a single unrestricted fund for the day to day running of the Charity. Restricted funds may only be used for specific purposes. Restrictions arise when specified by the donor or when funds are raised for a specific purpose. ## **3. Trustees** No Trustee received any money during the period. All expenses paid to Trustees were reimbursement of payments made on behalf of RACC ## **4. Property** The property, comprising a clubhouse and associated land, was professionally valued in December 2021.
