Improve the Ferformance of interested athletes and the general eryOnent of athletics. Also the club aims to Fxovide 4yopriale ccmpetrtion pathdys for Int8St0d hlétes with leagje and Otr cA)mtEtitions.
Achlovements & Perfonnanco The 2(724 season beg with Iraining lakn'ng pla as normal. We were able to get some good work done in the winter sessims lo prepare our athletes for the upcoming summer season utilising the new equipment that has been bwhl recently. Most gfCps had good participation at training. The club still has a slight issue with the older group of athletes still showing a reduction in partiopation but this next year w& hope to retain som8 of the okkr athletes. All group$ we rouohty the same as we have had in the previous pIe of years. Our annual Cross Cotry event was able to lake place this year and was ain h&ld at Monikie Country Park. This was well 8tleTrJed and the weather was kind lo us again. The training that was able to take place shchved pranising signs for the athletics meets the club participated in over Ihe summer months. This year we managed lo qualfy most of our age groups into the RAM League finals - with Ihe ones who didn't not having enwgh members lo get them there. We are a Small club who compete against much larger dubs and we do well against Ihem. Well done to all who competed. March 15 wh8n the club renews rts membership and we were able to proce5S this again in Ihe normal way. with more now paying the fees online and retumirKJ th&ir foms via email. The numbers ar8 slightly increasing al this Fxjinl. Membership continues to grthv over ts year and balances OLrt the fact that some athletes join at the start of the year and then leave Ihe dub duriro the year for a variety of reasons. The summer season happened as normal with teams compeliro in both RAM and YDL leagues with varying levels of success. We also had athletes competing at tho new Scottish National Athlelics League. These leagues are the Cners1One of the club and all the training throughout the year leads up lo this. Financial Review The club continues lo have a solid base for its financgs. The club is still able to cover the costs of the training facilty venues t*Jt the training costs may need lo be increased rf priex go Ltp for our facilities. We ar& holding the registralicn costs and training fe&s at the same level. The financial posrtion has meant the club continues to erthirage participation by larger fanilies with discounts for second and third children lo attend trainirg. Thè fundraising events such as the Rag Bag C(linUe lo be sound sources of fevenue to help the club with travelling expenses to allow the alhleles lo compete al league matthes. Our levels of donations fell this year, but this was due to the fact that our spOnSh1p from RAM was late in comiThJ through and also we did not apply for large grants as we had done in prevtous years. Wè have been able lo invest in more new equipment this year as some of our equipment was becoming wom. We inteTrJ to buy some more over the next year also to ensure ¢)ur athletes get the best P)ssible training we can offer. The club still has a surplus of money in the bank accojnl at th8 moment which will be used to cover expenses on ffjuipmènl, facilities and travel coming up.
Furfj Plans Going forward lor the next year we plan lo organise m(re in Glub competitlDns and to gat our annu81 Frances Ogg mulli ev1 orgariwl In $Lth a way that all members can compate. We hDPO 10 encovrage some parents lo volunteer lo ass15t us aTrJ to $8nd them on LvaGhnglofficials eIrS8$ run Ihrwgh Scottish Ale11¢3. Disojssions wrth Alwe, Angus Counal and Scottish Alhlelios abcArt the possibility of getting a n8w trad( facility in ArOath are still CgoIng and we f¥)pe to pro3ress this further in thè Lxlming year. We are also airning lo get mole nvolved in tying to promote the dub espe¢kqlly in local s¢hools and have t8n engaging witr Icral Scncols Coordirwtors atout th. We hope lo encourage mcre paterts lo donate a ccrtjple ol hours a m¢Jnth to WPFKJrt th8 cjub. I want lo er[age IIE parents tcs help whenever thèy can. We have some new pargnls who havo Iralnea as coaches this ye¥ and we wani to encourage Inem to progre55 tlyough ttr coeclung levob 8nd attract more to do so. Independent Examiner’s Report to the Trustees of
“ARBROATH & DISTRICT ATHLETIC CLUB SCIO”. SC050821
I report on the accounts of the charity for the year ended 31[ST] December 2024 which are attached
Respective responsibilities of trustees and examiner
The charity’s trustees are responsible for the preparation of the accounts in accordance with the terms of the Charities and Trustee Investment (Scotland) Act 2005 and the Charities Accounts (Scotland) Regulations 2006 (as amended). The charity trustees consider that the audit requirement of Regulation 10(1) (a) to (c) of the Accounts Regulations does not apply. It is my responsibility to examine the accounts as required under section 44(1) (c) of the Act and to state whether particular matters have come to my attention.
Basis of independent examiner’s statement
My examination is carried out in accordance with Regulation 11 of the Charities Accounts (Scotland) Regulations 2006 (as amended). An examination includes a review of the accounting records kept by the charity and a comparison of the accounts presented with those records. It also includes consideration of any unusual items or disclosures in the accounts, and seeks explanations from the trustees concerning any such matters.
The procedures undertaken do not provide all the evidence that would be required in an audit, and consequently I do not express an audit opinion on the view given by the accounts.
Independent examiner’s statement
In the course of my examination, no matter has come to my attention:
-
which gives me reasonable cause to believe that in any material respect the requirements:
-
to keep accounting records in accordance with Section 44(1) (a) of the 2005 Act and Regulation 4 of the 2006 Accounts Regulations and
-
to prepare accounts which accord with the accounting records and comply with Regulation 8 of the 2006 Accounts regulations
have not been met or
- to which, in my opinion, attention should be drawn in order to enable a proper understanding of the accounts to be reached.
