## Activities

**Activities:** 'It carries out activities or services itself'

**Purposes:** 'the provision of recreational facilities, or the organisation of recreational activities, with the object of improving the conditions of life for the persons for whom the facilities or activities are primarily intended','the relief of those in need by reason of age, ill-health, disability, financial hardship or other disadvantage'

**What the charity does:** We support the local community by organising events, clubs, activities and projects to assist with relieving financial stress and hardship.

**Objectives:** 4 The organisation’s purposes are: 4.1 The relief of those of need by reason of age, ill-health, disability, financial hardship or other disadvantage. 4.2 The provision of recreational facilities or the organisation of recreational activities, with the object of improving the conditions of life for the persons for whom the facilities or activities are primarily intended. And in furtherance of the above the SCIO will: Combat isolation by encouraging people to leave their homes and meet others in similar situations in an open and safe environment. Encourage and support personal development. Initiate a community based organisation which solely focuses on a shared interest/concern of what appears to be lacking in society. Develop an approach which will deliver better solutions and outcomes for individuals while averting future costs to the public sector. Bring people together to share interests, fulfil goals and develop friendships. Give people external interests out with their home environment and demonstrate they are not alone. Improve self-esteem, reduce loneliness and develop external interests. Introduce likeminded people and encourage a collective view of how the community would benefit socially, environmentally and lead to improvements in mental health.
