si SERU RABENI Commentary on the Model Trustee's Annual Report & Accounts - Seru Rabeni's Own Words My upbringing was more 'living to survive, until I had the opportunity to ploy rugby, the only sport in Fiji that does not need more than an empty space to play the game. One you got thot space, all you need is a coconut or bottle to start the game. The sport saved my life and I was able to play it to the highest level in Fiji earning myself a lifetime opportunity to go andfurther my studies in Otago, New Zealand. Even though Ifound some great rewards from playing rugby, it won't change my village as much. Luckily enough. through playing rugby as a professionalfor nearly 16 years, I was able to help out with my local community to.. Refurbish and upgrade our village hall Build new walkwGyS around the village Upgrade the village sports ground Help unfortunate kids with schoolfees and school needs- In March 2015 to continue with Seru Rabeni's contributions to his village, a Fundraiser was held to raise money to build a kindergarten in Seru's home village as the closest was over I hour on foot. The Ministry of Education in Fiji supported the initiative. Further to Seru's passing, Seru Rabeni was set up with the main objective as follows: Built a dedicated kindergarten in Seru's home village, Nasolo, Nadi, Bua located on the island of Vanua Levu in 2018. Current school roll is for four and five year old children from the village and nearby catchment areas Partners: Ministry of Education Fiji provides the curriculum, teachers & all education and building compliance certifications Seru Rabeni organises fundraising for school supplies and donations Local villagers oversee the running of the kindergarten and offer labour services when needed Contart usfor more information and updates on the Seru Rabeni at www.serurabeni.com or Facebook
