The organisation’s purposes are:
-
The advancement of education and information about agricultural production:
-
Facilitate that small farmers and workers / future workers of the agricultural sector can learn about new technologies and methods that have been developed in recent years in different geographies and that could be applicable for their crops and of benefit to them.
-
Facilitate their access to relevant information, such as weather forecasts, and market prices for the crops they are growing so that they are better equipped to negotiate their prices with buying agents and intermediaries (dealers/brokers of their crops). This would also facilitate their decision-making about changing cultivars or crops when such situations arise.
-
Assist them with language barriers, translating from English to Spanish and potentially communicating with third parties on their behalf.
-
The prevention or relief of poverty.
