Paisley Opera, founded 2017 with the motto 'Passion, Not Posh!' Is dedicated to breaking opera stereotypes and welcoming everyone - as audience or performers. Over 8 years, the company has steadily grown, employing a wide range of professional musicians and theatre professionals, and championing accessibility through collaborative translations into Paisley Scots with its community chorus. Our outreach goes beyond main productions, with significant involvement in schools and community workshops. Recent projects include Lochwinnoch Feelgood, Wellbeing In The Park, Cavalleria Rusticana performed on a covered street, and productions of Macbeth and Faust with Right2Dance and the Orchestra of Scottish Opera Opera. Excerpt from a recent review: I was blown away by the commitment to excellence and the evident enjoyment that radiated from all in the company. Paisley Opera is something very special and worth celebrating. (Edinburgh Music Review)
