Publications:| ||First Step in Scotland byATAS, the Annual Review Brochure, and a| ||sciencemagazine.| 2 ## APPENDIX 1 ## Achievements and performance Summary of the main achievements of | We organised a wide range of impactful events throughout the year. the charity during the financial period Highlights include the May 19th Commemoration of Atatiirk, Youth and Sports Day, which featured notable Turks from the UK and Turkey; a Q&A and event with Turkey’s first astronaut, Commander Gezeravci; the Harry Potter Bridge and Highlands Day Trip; Iftars in Edinburgh and Glasgow; and Eid celebrations. We launched a mentorship initiative in collaboration with leading academics and professionals, and we donated Turkish books to libraries in Edinburgh. We held meetings with relevant partners from higher education institutions in Scotland and strengthened ties with Scottish organisations, including the Scottish Parliament. Our activities foralso includedRepublic Day,a visitand to the Nationalengagements Robotarium,with delegationsa concertvisiting byroiScotian from Turkey. Across these events, we interacted with over 900 different individuals. We collaborated with various charities and societies, establishing a strong and diverse network. Our membership now includes approximately 120 active paying members and over 1,000 subscribers. Our efforts helped Turkish students adapt more easily to life in Scotland through cultural, educational, and social support. Cultural events helped bridge Scottish and Turkish communities, fostering deeper mutual understanding. Our academic programming enhanced networking opportunities and knowledge exchange, supporting both educational advancement and professional development. Brief statement of the charity’s policy | Charity funds and reserves are used exclusively to advance the aims and on reserves objectives outlined in our constitution. We maintain reserves to ensure financial stability, enable the delivery of planned activities, and cover any unexpected expenses in line with our charitable purposes. The charity is in a strong financial position as of the year-end. In addition, we are due to receive confirmed incoming transfers from our recent fundraising initiatives in the weeks following the end of the financial year. We used this fund to perform some cultural, academic and social events. We organised about 25 events including ATAS Academic Talks, Yunus Emre Week, 19 May Commemoration Day Reception, Coffe Meetups, Bowling Tournument, Tracking, St Andrews Day, Christmas Meetup, Music Nights etc. This fund is also used for the charity's monthly expenses like domain cost.
