2022 and were effecttvely stood down.
Contac* was maintained with the Sustrans project manager who could
offer adv$￿ but made it dear that the project team would need to be
strengthened and Sustrans would r￿t release further funding until
landowner issues were resolved. The Trustees and LCDT agree¢J that
Compulsory Purchase or a Path Delineation Order would be required to
resofve the landowner issues. tKJth optiors required ￿raY Counul to
inrtiate the legal prO￿S$.
Councillor J Cowe presented the case for Moray Coun￿1 Support at a
Meeting ofthe Ea)nomic Development and Infrastructure Committee on
2 May 23. The Commrttee rejecied the proposal on the grounds that it
(x)uld be viewed as ￿nanCIallY reckless" for the Council to proceed with
a CPO until 7 conditions were met. Post this meeting. Sustrans advised
that the projed would need to reapply for funding and while some pre-
applitxtion support might be provideil, the project would need to
demonstrate that tt had a stronger leam in pla￿, ffim) directlon and more
.' engagement wth the Council.
Various infonnal meetings were held towards the end of the period.
Plans were made to-reactivate" the LoMATr Charity and relaunch the
proied in earty 2024 with public meetings and a social media and press I
