# **Minutes of CoGG Annual General Meeting 28 November 2024 7.30pm in Errol Village Hall**

## **GUEST SPEAKER: Dr Josh Doble, Community Land Scotland (CLS)**

## **“How communities can buy and make use of community-owned land and how Community Land Scotland can help”**

Taking on an asset (eg land) requires a lot of work. Need to think about succession and how to recruit more people to CoGG .

## **Main discussion points :**

CLS covers a wide range of models of land ownership. CoGG is set up to comply with requirements for land ownership . Needs to consider what is needed eg allotments. Examples of community land buyouts eg in Western Isles.

As a properly constituted group, CoGG can put in a pre-emptive right to buy a defined piece of land for 3 months.

Eg can buy land as “asset transfer” from PKC. Issue of ownership of unclaimed land. Need to identify areas of land around Errol :

eg who owns area of land behind the school (previously owned by builder before went bust)? It was agreed to get copy of title deeds from Land Register for £15.

Need to involve the community: what they would like eg allotments, permanent surgery? – organise a public meeting in Errol

Should CoGG (Carse of Gowrie Group) be reconstituted as an Errol / Grange Group to reflect the focus of its current activities and location of active members? Other active groups in the Carse are in St Madoes and the Braes of the Carse Group north of the A90.

Would need to call an EGM (Extraordinary General Meeting) to consult the membership
