Section D Achievements and performance Summary of tho maln achievements of the charity during tho yaar IAembership GUSC ended the Chanty year with 94 adutt members (16+) and 102 junior rn￿nkn. Partlclpallon In Comwbon• G￿nUrquhart fielded teams in all ￿velS of com￿{110nS for Aduts. Juniors , Male and Female and completed all gan￿ for which we were elgible The men's first team exp8nen9ed a challenging season in Shinty's Premiership and the majority of results went against them although mostly by narrow margins . As a consequence r&*ation back to the National Division is nrA¥ inevrtable but the improving perfomiances of the younger players in the second half of the season ts￿e$ well for the future. The second men's team also had a diffioth time in the very competitive North Division 1 league but have done well enough to avoid relegation. Once again. younger players have brought both energy and qualrty to the team performances. Given the emerging prominence of younger players in the senior teams . li is no surprise thal our under 17 team reached the semrfinals of the junior Mactavish cup and decisively picked up the Mowi London Sh￿Id league trophy at the end of the season (2111124) kewise the U17 Development Team. which also includes on some of our young women playe￿. won the WJ Cameron Trophy on 27111110 following a league and knock OLrt competition. The women players were in action in the NatiCK￿l Senior League, th8 North 2 Division and U14's "RouThJ Robin" competrtions. The National Team consolidated there posrtion mid table in the league and the Norh 2 team did us proud by comirvJ top in a hard fwht League which went lo the final game to be decided. It would be amiss not tn I mention the outstanding indrvidual ath￿vernent of U14 player ho Scored 27goals in18 games in the North 218a9ue placing tr.e". a- lop scorer in that league. For representative games ,Glenurquhart had two under17 youih players selected to play for a Scottish select in Ireland. In a¢Jdition 5 senior women and 6 junior women were selectèd for the East and west representatNe games heald annuany in Oban. The 3 day Youth summer"camp' took place in July at Blairteg Park. This event is open to for all local pnmary school thildren in Aird and Loch Ness . It was oversubscribed and well attended wth players wming from Glenurquhart, Strathglass. Lovat. Beauty and GMA. CommunDty Partnershi Club Minlbus - has now been rekcated to the Hyh SchcK)I to be kepl adjacent to the School minibus Both buses are being used extensivety by several kncal COmrr￿nty organisations Subject to bc#)king and driver vetting. This has been achieved by significantly Strengthening our partnership ts'es with Gbenurquhart High School Old Shop Slte. Balmacaan Road, Drumnadrochit GUSC in partnership wrth G￿nUrquhart Rural Communty Association. Glenurquhart Rugby Club and Glenurquhart Football Club . have succeeded in a ky"d to the Scottish Land Fund for a grant to assist in the OLrtright purchase by the Communrty of this ￿0t adjacent to Blairbeg Park for a health and wellbeing ￿ntre. Section E Financial review GUSC { SCIO) is a volunteer lead organisation with no employees and hence our reserves requirement is relatively modest. For the sake of good order, it is the intention of the Trustees to retain SLrfficient fijnds in the clubs accounts to cover the recurring annual fixed costs and regular seThices for the forthcoming season wtthout any immediate requirement to fund raise . For season 2024 services provided on a demand basis are for laundry , clubhouse deaning and perimeter grass ¢Lrtting whi¢h, on average .amount to £1500 in ti)tal. The recurring predictab￿ costs for competition entries, minibus insurance . utilities. minor maintenan￿, property & lia￿lty insurance currently amount to approximately £5000. Hen￿ our 2023 reseThes Policy was therefore to retain a minimum of £9000 in our accessib￿ accounts at year end. Brief statement of the charlty's pollcy on roserves However, as a result of increased costs in all areas and partiojlarly in insurance woducts and utilities, we wil be monrtoring our fixed costs closely during 2025 wilh a view to adjusting our reserrfes policy as uired.
