W¢ receiv￿ ARIA futtding at th¢ ¢nd of tho previous ffftanciaj year to run the Strandline Illuminat¢d
Trail 202415. The trail consisted of 21 Illumin￿ed sculptures refl¢ctiMg the history. heritage and culture
the ioivn of Giryan. The event itself wa5 as popular as eiier ividi locals and visitors alike. New for this
year was th¢ addition of a'free Idonations ￿epted. first fool buff¢l at the Wcc School at the end of
the trail. Thts pD)vidcd a great opportunityp to for staff and truste¢s to talk lo visitors and we receiv
sO￿e vaiuabl¢ f¢¢dback. Strandline allows pwpl¢ in di¢ nwai SW lo &cess and experience a quality
arts ¢v¢nl on their doorstep.
We slart¢d 202) with tlie third year of funding frow tli¢National Lottery Comwunity led fund
supportuig the Projcct Coordinator to cany on the good work. and further funding frolli various wind
farni fut)ds enhbling us to retain the C￿atiVe Assistwit position and later funding from Kil8allio¢h
Wind fami enabled us to ¢mploy an Arts Development oftfi¢¢r lo assist with planning delivering
activilieg. Carrick Futures, Kilgalliocli fwidfftng also fiwd¢d the lantern ProjectlFestival of Light and
Strandline ivitli addilioiial funding froni Assell ValleyJNad8ra and Destin*ion Soutli Asry31)iTe.
A big boost in 2025 ivas Awards for All National Lottery funding which allowed us to organisc an
exten$Ave programme of workshops for kids, families and adults witl) a theme for th¢ y¢w- Claddacli
celebrating our coastal ¢nviroNllent. All workshops We￿ Ilieiued around the coast ￿ld includ¢d
poetyl spoken word, a r¢sid¢ncy ￿)d dance proj¢¢t All February 2026. All workshops were well
attended and received ￿at f¢¢dba¢k.
The F¢$lival of Lighi was a reprieve of the second ¢vcr fcstival, n￿lled Song of the Sca, fitting in
around our general ￿a$tal dieme for the year. Th¢ large lanterns consisted of Black Head¢d Gull
walkable lantern costutttes, a giant ￿rtIC and s¢v¢ral largc jellyfish. Kids and ¢ollhmunily in¢Jllb¢rs
ade fish. sharks, dolpliins etc.
Tb¢ f¢stival ended with a spectacular fire show on tbe shorc ivith the main SwIp￿tE being two large
n)acker¢l int¢rtwirted.
Strandline emulated this Ihwne also and made us¢ of the Giant turtle again. wbilsl givitig a nod to
$e&side towns of old with 1¢¢ cffam con¢$. giant love heart sweds. and tli¢ wak¢rel 8culptur¢ being
madc into a1onlwD installalion.
Our weekly groups have continued with the Clioir going from $tr¢ngth to strength. guttiing new
¢Jnbers to total 20,"gard¢ning group re¢¢ived ￿nding from Ayt¥hir¢ Climatc Hub and Paint n Patter
coiitinued with the Cliaty Sp&¢s funding.
Ottce again we collaborat¢d ivith Girvan Traditional Folk Festival in May, widi a wllaborative
sliorefroni r￿a1¢,￿lappentllg' involving tllany volunteers. botli locals and visitors. helpitig ivith
weaving the fw¢ sculpthre, dressing up as crows. dancing and pApers playillg.

Fcstival Fringe thiring the Girvan Arts Festival, ran an open art exhibition in August for local artist$
and provided a venue for Open Stydlos AyrshiTr in Septcjnber.
Wlih funding from Kilgalli(Kh w¢ ¢Jllployed a new Arts dcvelopmcnt Hrorker. Katie Bradley was
app)inted kn the post late in May and b¢8an work on Friday 6th June 2025. She l¢ft the post on 8tli
October 2025.
We employed ttvo young p￿pIe on the Thriving Comniunities Employabilily scheme and tli¢ new Arts
Developmcni offi¢cr $18rtcd in July 2025.
Our AGM ivas in August and Steivart Slicddort joined a5 a new Trnstc¢ with the previous chair and
secretary re-ele¢ted. Trnstees are Sally Gr#hani as cliairp¢rson, Blake Stubley as $¢crelary. Isabel
Arclilx)Id as acting treasurer.
We dis¢u$sed the need for an Arts Production Space I Storage l equippd Ivorksliop fa¢iiitA¢5 and had
two business plans pr¢pared. One funded by Soutl) Ayrsljire Collncil and one by SURF, produced by
Community Enterprise. Witii limited space in 2025 were lucky to b¢ te￿pOrarIlY abl¢ to rent a
Council unit for 6 iyeeks only.

We ree¢ived the first tranche of funding from ARtA towards th¢ 202516 Strartdline, Winter Festival

We hai'e re applied for National IA)ttery Funding- tlie Community Action programme and are
aiyaiting die outcome. W¢ are also aivaiting n￿YS of application to Carrick Futures to support
Lantern project in 2026 and to ke¢p on one of th¢ wplo)'ability scheme young peopl¢ as an admin
assistant.
With the rapid groi4th of Cra8 Coniiiiunity Arts Iliis yearw¢ will also look at slrengih¢ning our board
of tntste¢s. resources iv¢ require to Jllov¢ fon¥ard, for ex&inpl¢ additional members of staff and sUp￿rt
for taking fonvdrd the Big Arts Space id¢a in 2026. We a150 re￿gnISe tlie n(*d for mor¢ help ivith
ftngncial record keeping and are exploring the posgibility of paying a bookkeeper.

Res ective res onsibilities of trustees and e3aminer
The chaTity's trustees atr responsible for the p￿par&lon of th¢ accounts in accordance with the
temis of the Charities alld Trustee Investtnent (Seoiland) Act 2005 and the Chariti¢s Accounts
(Scoiland) Regulations 2006. The clwity trustees ¢onsider that the audit requirement of
Regulation 10 (I)(d) of the Accounts Regulations does not apply. It is my respi)nsibility to
examine the account5 &8 required under section 44 (1)(c) of the Act And to sfate ivhether particular
matters have come to my attention.
Basis of inde dent examiner's statement
My examination is caffied out in accordance with Rcgulation I l of the Charities Accounts
(Scotland) Regulations 2006. An examination includ¢s a tevie*' of the a￿luntIng records kept by
the charity and a comparison of the accounts prcs¢nted with those ￿e0rds. .It also includes
consideTrtion of any unusual items or diselosures in the accounts, and seeks explanations from the
trustees concernlng any such matters. The proceduff s undertaken do not provide all the evidence
that would be required in an audit. and consequently I do not expr¢ss an audit opinion on die view
ven by the accounts.
