Crag Community Arts is set up to provide opportunities for people in rural geographical areas, particularly in. Carrick, South Ayrshire, to access and participate in quality arts and crafts activities and events. During the year we run workshops for adults and young people from our leased building - The Wee School Art Space, in Girvan. We hire professional artists to deliver these workshops and always consult and survey participants to inform decisions on future topics for workshops. We also have 7 weekly groups using the space for peer led supported activities from cross-stitch and crochet to painting, gardening for wellbeing and a community choir. Groups are attended by between 48 and 65 people weekly. Crag also organises projects and events, the most notable being Carrick Festival of Light, six weeks of lantern workshops with local schools, community groups and drop in workshops. Also Strandline Illuminated Trail at new Year has been a calendar staple for 5 years now.
