Activities
'It carries out activities or services itself'
'the provision of recreational facilities, or the organisation of recreational activities, with the object of improving the conditions of life for the persons for whom the facilities or activities are primarily intended'
The charity is set up to continue refurbishing and improving Douglas Park through volunteer involvement such as Adopting Flowers beds and borders which engages volunteers from a local flower club, rowing club, families , local businesses etc . We invite support and involvement from many groups, both in the local community and out side the Largs area, such as uniformed organisations, local school and nursery children and through engaging with organisations such as Keep Scotland Beautiful , the RSPB, Scottish Wildlife Trust , the Menshed and the Largs' Museum . We invite volunteers through our social media platforms, the local paper and Fund Raising events such as concerts, coffee mornings , bucket collections and Calendar Sales . We encourage sustainable , environmentally friendly gardening methods such as composting, leaf mulching , collecting rainwater , recycling and repurposing materials and plan to hold mini classes in the future .
