## **FALKIRK FOOTBALL HERITAGE TRUST SUPPLEMENT TO ANNUAL RETURN 2024-2025** ## **1. TRUSTEES** The trustees for 2024-2025 were as follows: ## **2. TRUST ACTIVITIES** The Trust was able to conduct many of its functions in its fifth year. These included : - a. The continuation of the Senior Bairns meetings for older supporters. - b. The ongoing development of a Former Players Association. - c. Regular Social Media presence through Facebook. - d. Publication of Volume One of the club’s history to celebrate the 150[th] Anniversary of the club in 1877/78. - e. Preparation for Volume Two of the above book to include statistical data. - f. Presence at various supporter programme fair events, both in Falkirk and nationally. - g. Regular heritage articles in the matchday programme of Falkirk F.C. - h. Assistance with enquiries from family members relating to family members and relatives who may have played for Falkirk FC. - i. Provision of player and officials obituaries for national and local media. - j. Maintenance of the Heritage Trust website. - k. Continued liaison with Falkirk Football Club over preparations for 150[th] Anniversary celebration events. - l. Preservation, cataloguing and scanning of historical documents with a view to online accessibility. - m. The continued refurbishment of lounges and corridors at the Falkirk Stadium to improve the awareness of the club’s history. - n. The planning for a new Heritage Trail both within the stadium and throughout the town including surrounding areas. - o. Continued involvement with McCrae’s Battalion Trust including representation at the annual Remembrance event at Haymarket. - p. Assisting authors and other historical researchers on material relating to Falkirk Football club. - q. Responding to national media requests for information on former players and matches. - r. Monthly meetings of Football Memories groups to support older people living with dementia and other memory problems. - s. Delivering talks to community groups on the work of the trust and the history of the football club. ## **CHAIR COMMENTS** The Trust has firmly established itself as the key partner in receiving, assessing, and cataloguing of materials donated by families and organisations relating to the social economic and cultural aspects of the club’s history. The cataloguing of minute books and the scanning of materials which are now available online has proved a success and a valuable aid to those interested in football historical research. The Trust has developed a much improved Heritage Trail which better reflects the club’s history. Pre-match tours have been well received. The publication of the first volume of the club’s history (1877-1969) was a momentous success and established enthusiasm for the upcoming 150[th] . Anniversary. A second volume, with an additional statistical supplement, will be a major feature of the celebrations and a new heritage venture is being planned for 2027.
