Trustees Report and Accounts for the year ended 30" June 2025
The Trustees present their report and the unaudited accounts of the charity for the year ended 30" June 2025.
Governing Document Carsethorn Community Development Group is a Scottish Charitable Incorporated Organisation (SCIO) and registered as a Scottish Charity under reference SC050434, governed by its constitution and administered by a committee consisting of members elected under the terms of the constitution. The SCIO was formed on 3% September 2020.

The Trustees who served during the year to 30 June 2025 and following the year end were as
Appointment and Recruitment of Committee Members The group is governed by a committee whose members are appointed in terms of the group’s constitution.
Objectives and Activities The organisation's purpose is for the advancement of citizenship and community development in the village of Carsethorn. It will do this by undertaking projects for community benefit and primary focus on creating and maintaining the village sea defences therefore making the community a viable and positive place to live.
Achievements and Performance
During the course of the year we have:-

e Held discussions with Access Officer on best way forward with path at side of Harbour Masters House.

e Negotiated an agreement made with adjacent home owners to fill gap beside Harbour Masters House but leave access clear.

e Support agreed with Community Council to help repair bus shelter and bin den. e New SLOW road markings painted on road through the village following discussions with Community Council and Roads Department.

e¢ OrganisedHeld a publicand meetingcarried byout Zoom a beach“|ith 12 people attending. further advise on the detail of priorities for sea defences.

e Hada public meeting wit i, get advice on the best way to maintain access for everyone while protecting the village from the effects of erosion.

e Held a meeting with the landowner to establish what works he would agree to. e Metwithon the Flood Forum on several occasions to discuss flood gates and get advice of funding sources and applications.

¢ Gotletters of support from Flood forum, Access Officer and Solway Firth Partnership. e Completed and submitted a funding application to the Coastal Benefit Fund.

e Completed a survey of the villagers to establish how many businesses were based in the village
Financial Review
The Charity aims to generate sufficient funds to maintain operations. As a result of the surplus for the year, the group held unrestricted funds of £360 at the year end. The Trustees consider that this will enable us to support the activities which are planned for the forthcoming year.
Committee Members Remuneration and Expenses None of the Trustees received remuneration or reimbursement of expenses for their services.

IndependentExaminer’s Report to the Trustees
| report on the unaudited accounts of the charity for the year ended 30" June 2025 as set out on pages 3 to 4 of this document.
Respective Responsibilities of the Trustees and the Examiner
The charity's Trustees are responsible for the preparation of the accounts in accordance with the terms of The Charities and Trustee Investment (Scotland) Act 2005 and The Charities Accounts (Scotland) Regulations 2006. The charity Trustees consider that the audit requirement of Regulation 10(1)(d) of the Accounts Regulations does not apply. It is my responsibility to examine the accounts as required under Section 44(1)(c) of the Act and to state whether particular matters have come to my attention.
Basis of Independent Examiner’s Report
My examination is carried out in accordance with Regulation 11 of the Charities Accounts (Scotland) Regulations 2006. An examination includes a review of the accounting records kept by the charity and a comparison of the accounts presented with those records. It also includes consideration of any unusual items or disclosures in the accounts, and seeks explanations from the committee members concerning any such matters. The procedures undertaken do not provide all the evidence that would be required in an audit, and consequently | do not express an audit opinion on the view given by the accounts.
Independent Examiner’s Statement
In the course of my examination, no matter has come to my attention:

(1) which gives me reasonable cause to believe that in any material respect the requirements;
-
(a) to keep accounting records in accordance with Section 44(1)(a) of the 2005 Act and Regulation 4 of the 2006 accounts Regulations; and
-
(b) to prepare accounts which accord with the accounting records and comply with Regulation 9 of the 2006 Accounts Regulations.

(2) to which, in my opinion, attention should be drawn in order to enable a proper -_ of the accounts to be reached.
