Ando Glaso SCIO is a Roma-led charity set up to celebrate, protect and develop Roma culture in Scotland. Our purpose is to empower Roma people through arts, heritage and community participation, ensuring that our traditions, skills and identity are recognised, valued and passed on to future generations. We achieve this by delivering a wide programme of creative, cultural and community work. This includes supporting Roma musicians and artists through training, mentoring and professional opportunities. running youth programmes that help young Roma people develop skills, confidence and pathways into the arts. and delivering heritage work that documents, preserves and shares Roma intangible cultural heritage. We work directly within Roma communities, providing culturally relevant workshops, events and support delivered by Roma practitioners. Objectives: 4.1 The advancement of Roma arts, heritage and culture, through promoting and delivering educational and learning activities that celebrate diverse cultures. through organizing and delivering exhibitions and festivals, musical and otherwise. through the creation of professional ensembles and groups. through advancing and promoting the youth music sector. 4.2 The advancement of citizenship or community development through organizing and delivering community/ local events aimed at creating and strengthening community cohesion between Roma communities and the wider society. 4.3 The advancement of education, through the provision of music classes. performing arts. capacity building and mentoring programs involving experts and professionals in particular Roma experts and professionals. 4.4 The provision/organization of recreational activities with the object of improving the conditions of life for the persons for whom the facilities or activities are primarily intended.
